ABOUT THE POSITION

The Vice President of Network Strategy is a newly created position within Beacon Health Options. The role, reporting directly to the Sr. Vice President of Network Strategy will lead a team responsible for developing and deploying a new approach to network strategy, grounded in market and provider analytics and economics across lines of business (Commercial health plan, direct to employer, Medicaid and Medicare and all levels of care for both MH and SUD. The candidate’s main focus will be on leading a team that designs network strategies to help ensure access for our members to providers of behavioral health services. They will also lead the development and actively manage the network offerings in support of the Company’s product strategy road map to include networks for opioid use disorder, autism, student health and other initiatives as they arise. This road map will be informed by market demand, competitor positioning and strategies, emerging innovations, overall network performance, economics, and other factors. The candidate will work closely with other network leadership, Enterprise strategy team as well as the Regional leadership teams to ensure that the impact of the network is delivering against the access objectives as well as on agreed upon goals for product development support. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with Regional leadership to develop and maintain network strategies that will enable the Organization to achieve agreed performance targets on access, financial and clinical quality.
  • Use analytics and insights to inform annual and multi-year network strategy road maps and capability investments addressing network benefits.
  • Ensure alignment with product strategy team for development of new products and capabilities.
  • Knowledge of Contracting, Provider Relations and Medical Management such that he/she can leverage support needed to deliver the right customer solution.
  • Work with Regional network leadership to develop specific network strategies and identify gaps.
  • Actively monitor developments in the market and work with the market strategy team to evaluate, pilot, test, and implement new network strategies.
  • Success in this space will require an understanding of external market trends, innovations from competitors, and new vendors and startups.
  • Exercise strong 'matrix management' leadership skills and build strong relationships with colleagues and business partners across the enterprise will be critical to the overall success of the network strategy role.
  • Perform management responsibilities including, but not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity.
  • Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
  • Ability to influence organization to drive business plans and achieve results, including an ability to work with cross functional teams to solve problems

Position Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Education : Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or other related field

Relevant Work Experience:

  • 5 years of experience with deep breadth and depth of business knowledge across relevant functions (product, marketing, operations, etc.) in Healthcare or similarly regulated product industries
  • 3 years in Leadership position, with demonstrated ability to work in a matrixed organization environment
  • Demonstrated analytic and strategic problem solving skills
  • Ability to create and deliver executive level presentations

  Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or other related field
  • Demonstrated strong comprehensive management and leadership skills
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance, healthcare, strategic planning, financial management, reimbursement, and operations in healthcare markets
  • Strong understanding of market trends/needs, business requirements and balance them successfully
  • Ability to directly and successfully lead, mentor and develop a talented team of high-performing individuals in a fast-paced environment
  • External market orientation
