Job Description

The Vice President Provider Relations will be responsible for supporting and executing provider relations aspects of the provider strategy for existing businesses for all of Beacon’s Divisions/Regions. The VP Provider Relations will be responsible for directing provider relations alongside contracting activities to maintain and enhance each Region’s provider network for existing clients. The VP of Provider Relations will navigate through Beacon’s matrix structure to engage, coordinate and support cross functional Beacon stakeholders.


  • Partner with Regional Provider Strategy and Operations Leadership to develop execution plans for each Region’s provider strategy.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for Regional Leadership on provider relations issues.
  • In collaboration with SVP of Network Management and VP of Contracting, establish delineation between contracting and provider relations to create new separately operating teams and assure application of delineation across each region.
  • Launch a process improvement strategy which identifies provider satisfaction impacts, root cause of issues, and action steps to implement and execute upon, resulting in shorter provider inquiry response times, improved employee engagement, and higher provider satisfaction.
  • Direct Provider Relations leadership to assure activities are performed effectively and support the Region’s network strategy, including meeting financial targets.
  • Act as senior point of contact to address escalated provider relations complaints, issues and concerns.
  • Effectively lead the Provider Relations team as evidenced by provider, internal customer and client satisfaction, compliance with internal, client, regulatory and accreditation standards, successful audits, and employee satisfaction and engagement.
  • Support, participate in and lead the Network Management Department’s process improvement and transformational initiatives to drive completion and successful outcomes.
  • Develop strong provider and client relationships built on trust and collaboration. Manage and balance Beacon and provider expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Network Development team to transition new business to ongoing operations.
  • Meet or exceed administrative budget targets and rate contracting targets.
  • Act as liaison and maintain productive working relationships with all Beacon departments.
  • Hire, manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a managed care or healthcare environment
  • 5 years of leadership experience in a Provider Relations role
  • 3 years of experience in a Client Facing role
  • 2 years of enterprise wide Program Management experience
  • Strong background with Payers and Providers
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated financial modeling and data analysis experience


  • Bachelor degree required, Master's Degree preferred
