Job Description


We are currently seeking two dynamic Data Reporting Analysts to join our team.  The Data Reporting Analysts will be responsible for providing analytical support to the Utilization Management Shared Services department. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to synthesizing and summarizing reports, analyzing large data sets, and communicating insights from data analysis. Duties also include developing requirements for new reports and providing specified and general support to all Beacon Health Options regions.

One position is located in the NYC area and the other is in the Boston areas to support the Regional Utilization Management staffs. In a rare instance, depending on the level of candidate experience and expertise, there may be a work-from-home potential.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze authorization and telephony data to identify trends and make comparisons to key performance indicator targets on a daily, weekly, monthly, and/or quarterly basis
  • Synthesize and communicate findings to internal stakeholders through written, graphical, and oral means
  • Develop and communicate requirements for new ad-hoc or ongoing reports
  • Identify data sources for obtaining data to support continuous improvement activities
  • Liaise with Knowledge Management and Analytics teams regarding requirements, development, and delivery of reports
  • Ensure ongoing data quality and completeness of reports delivered to UM Shared Services department
  • Quickly address and /or escalate reporting issues and support their resolution

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor's degree in data analytics, business analytics, applied statistics, business administration, or related field is preferred.

Licensure:  None required

Relevant Work Experience:  Must have two years of directly related analytic experience with a deep understanding of managed care and behavioral health.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of mathematical, statistical principals, and data analysis
  • Ability to develop, analyze and manage reports; ability to prepare written assessment reports
  • Strong command of Excel (advanced level preferred)
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with and support matrixed teams
  • Basic understanding of relational databases
  • An enterprising person with the ability to work under minimal supervision and maintain a high degree of productivity.
  • Potential and commitment to attain intermediate understanding of Beacon information systems
