Job Description

 ABOUT THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a dynamic Trainer to join our Talent Management and Learning team. 

Your primary responsibility is to conduct training for employees on policies, procedures, and practices as well as technical systems used to perform their job. The focus will be on supporting the training for Operations team (customer service and claims functions). This includes: completing a wide range of administrative tasks, maintaining training records, preparing general training materials, coordinating and conducting training sessions, assessing learning, using LMS for managing training content, administering evaluations, tracking and reporting use and participation. Delivery will be either in classroom or virtually via WebEx, some travel may be required.

This role reports to Manager, National Trainings (Customer Service and Claims).

Position is based in Roseland, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Delivering Trainings Responsibilities  

  • Assist with design, development, and delivery of technical trainings

  • Coordinate and deliver technical trainings, create learning materials and resources

  • Work with management, supervisors, and employees to gain knowledge of training needs and to understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiative and technologies

  • Synthesize learner feedback into training materials and curriculum and ensure program management is looped in on any issues that are exposed during the training effort

  • Conduct and lead in-person training and remote/WebEx training, as required

  • Conduct onboarding trainings for new hires programming

  • Support the delivery of ad hoc and business priority training programs, fast turnaround and customization of training materials and content  

  • Manage training logistics, prepare training materials, ensure participants have resources prior, during and after the training for best learning

  • Deliver trainings on the use of internal Beacon proprietary systems for CSR and claims

Instructional Design Responsibilities 

  • Edit existing course materials

  • Implement new training programs

  • Identify and assesses skills development and training needs within a company

  • Implement course evaluations

  • Make recommendations for improvements for existing courses

Technical Writing Responsibilities 

  • Update existing SharePoint site (contributor)

  • Create reference materials using the Standards of Technical Writing and Beacon Training Style Guide, including:

    • Reference Manuals

    • Training Guides

    • Job Aids

    • Online documentation

    • Use the standard draft and review guidelines for the Training Department

Other Responsibilities

  • Work with the operations team, as needed, to stay up-to-date on the day to day business operations

  • Sit side-by-side with new hires and provide feedback, as needed

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Weekly Status Reports / Progress Notes / Feedback to management team

  • Complete paperwork, training tracking, weekly status reports

  • Manage and maintain content via intranet (Navigator) and via Learning Management System (Relias)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Education or industry-related focus preferred.

Licensure:  None required

Relevant Work Experience:  

  • At least 1 year of working in a training role with content development and delivery experience

  • Experience of working in healthcare or related field (preferred)

  • Familiarity with Learning Management Software (LMS) a plus

  • Knowledge of traditional and modern job training methods and techniques

Travel: Approximately 10-15%

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: working knowledge or ability:

  • Excellent delivery, presentation, facilitation skills

  • Proficient in MS Office, PPT, Word, Excel, SharePoint and WebEx

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and prioritize appropriately to meet strict deadlines

  • Collaborative, team-oriented, able to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team

  • Excellent verbal and written communication, public speaking

  • Planning, time management, and interpersonal skills with solid attention to detail

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
