About the Position:

We are currently seeking a dynamic Trainer II to join our Talent Management and Learning team. 

You will develop and deliver instructor led trainings for our Onboarding and Implementation teams (new employee, new business, and new software programs), training on technical systems and soft skills. You will focus on developing, delivering, and maintaining comprehensive training programs, and will also be responsible for coordinating all training requirements, as well as maintaining and updating the content to ensure it is relevant. Delivery will be live in a classroom or virtually via Zoom and some travel may be required. As a member of the team, you will serve as a learning consultant and collaborate with subject matter experts to build and deliver adequate learning solutions (eLearning, classroom, blended).

This position reports to Director, Learning and Development.   

This position is based in Woburn, MA.

Position Responsibilities:

Deliver Trainings:  

  • Deliver and facilitate both in-person and virtual instructor led training programs to wide and varied audiences
  • Deliver ongoing onboarding programs, trainings to support Business Implementations, and ad-hoc trainings as needed
  • Manage training logistics, prepare training materials, ensure participants have resources prior, during, and after training to maximize results
  • Assess learning quality and satisfaction and seek ongoing feedback to improve and enhance content and experience
  • Responsible for technical writing and the design of new training courses
  • Synthesize learner feedback into training curriculum and ensure enduring communication with program owners to resolve opportunities identified during the training effort

Instructional Design / Curriculum Development: 

  • Develop courses using sound instructional design methods (i.e. ADDIE, SAM)
  • Apply adult learning theories to course design including experiential activities, discovery methods, and action planning
  • Work with subject matter experts / business clients to understand learning needs and objectives, audience, and method of delivery
  • Design appropriate learning solutions, content, course materials, and instructional methodologies to best meet business and audience needs
  • Manage and maintain integrity of the content to ensure it is up-to-date and relevant
  • Complete Needs Analysis for new programs

Technical Writing Requirements:

  • Develop technical documentation for pre and post training reference
  • Manage a SharePoint site (site admin) with training content and documents
  • Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) to obtain content for documentation
  • Create reference materials using the Standards of Technical Writing and Beacon Training Style Guide, including:
    • Reference Manuals
    • Training Guides
    • Job Aids
    • Online documentation
    • Use the standard draft and review guidelines for the Training Department

Other Requirements

  • Work with the operations team as needed to stay up-to-date on routine business operations
  • Conduct 1:1 coaching sessions with learners in person and virtually as needed
  • Mentor, train, and develop Trainer I and other training staff as needed

Administrative Requirements:

  • Weekly Status Reports / Progress Notes / Feedback to OD management team
  • Complete paperwork, training tracking, and weekly status reports
  • Manage and maintain content via intranet (Navigator) and via Learning Management System (Relias)

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Education or industry-related focus preferred

Relevant Work Experience: 

  • At least one year of working in healthcare or related field (preferred)
  • At least 1-3 years of working in a training role with content development and delivery experience
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Software (LMS) a plus
  • Knowledge of traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
  • Experience with/knowledge of Medicare Advantage health plan rules/operations preferred

Travel: Approximately 10%

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent delivery, presentation, facilitation, and classroom management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), SharePoint
  • Experience managing all aspects of video conferencing and webinar platform
  • Ability to manage and appropriately prioritize multiple projects to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience working closely with business experts to identify course objectives then create content and effective learning solutions
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, able to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills
  • Planning, time management, and interpersonal skills with solid attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
