Job Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic Clinical Team Lead to join our team at our office in Kapolei. The Clinical Team Lead provides comprehensive oversight of the Case Management/Service Coordination (CM/SC) Team and facilitates the delivery of the highest standards for the CM/SC Programs, quality outcomes and operational efficiencies. The Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing and monitoring the day-to-day processes and the staff as well as the analytics and report writing related to team performance, and will be expected to contribute to the reporting and analytics for overall program evaluation. The Team Lead will be a resource to team members and health plan/ community case managers, providing support and assistance in understanding of Beacon’s level of care criteria, scheduling, answering questions about policies and procedures and being available to handle and train staff on difficult calls. The Team Lead, in conjunction with the Clinical Manager and Senior Director, will identify training needs for other staff members, assist the clinical department in reaching contractual goals, performance objectives and support the organizational goals of customer service, efficient utilization management, organizational competency and value added case management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads the Team by directing the activities of team members and draws upon CMSA, URAC, and NCQA accreditation standards, referral criteria and clinical expertise to manage all aspects of Care Management

  • Provide direct supervision of staff to include

    • auditing of cases and regular performance reviews.

    • Quality oversight of completed assessments and care planning

    • Monitors daily performance to ensure business goals are met and compliance with Beacon policies and procedures.

    • Monitors cases to ensure program guidelines are followed and timeliness criteria are met.

  • Supports the development of solutions for issues and presents recommendations to the Clinical Manager and/or the Sr. Clinical Director.

  • Works with members and providers to ensure that members receive education, coordinated services and advocacy that support optimal clinical outcomes.

  • Consults with physicians, mental health providers and other community service programs to facilitate care coordination.

Position Requirements:


  • Required to be educated in current principles, procedures and knowledge domains of case management based on nationally recognized standards of case management


  • Licensed behavioral health clinician with a current, valid and unrestricted Hawaii licensure for practice. A staff providing Case Management services will have at least one of the following:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a health related field and licensure as a behavioral health professional.

  • RN licensure as a professional and 3 years behavioral health clinical practice

    Relevant Work Experience:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years combined direct behavioral health, supervisory and/or managed care experience required.


  • Leadership skills and supervisory experience, including the ability to develop team performance.

  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple issues, excellent organizational skills, ability to track multiple projects/tasks and follow through as needed

  • Works under minimal supervision and relies on significant experience and the exercise of judgment in the application of knowledge to the solution of difficult tasks.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
