About the Position:

Beacon Health Options is currently seeking a dynamic Business Systems Analyst I to join our Systems Configuration team in Latham, NY! The BSA I is responsible for the timely and accurate completion of all system configuration deliverables for their assigned clients to both internal and external customers for all divisions including Employer Solutions, Public Sector, Health Plan and Federal.  The incumbent will work with the assigned Team Lead and BSA’s to complete tasks for their assigned clients.

The Business Systems Analyst I is responsible for development of the business requirements, data mapping, problem resolution, error analysis, project management and system functional design, developing test scenarios and level 2a testing and production file management and error handling under the direct guidance of the Team Lead and BSA’s.

This individual must have strong analytical skills and be able to multi task; managing several projects and clients at the same time. He/she must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and is expected to take the initiative to suggest creative solutions to continually improve processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct analysis, design, development, implementation and maintenance of configuration of the CAS and Connect systems. Serve as the primary liaison between National Systems Configuration and the Service Centers, National Departments, Vendors, and Clients for all benefit matters related for assigned accounts.
  • Work with Team Lead and/or Manager when evaluating business requirements to ensure they are clearly defined, and when developing configuration and/or ad hoc specifications that they address all business requirements.
    • Collect all required project documentation and sign-offs.
  • Ensure that all configuration solutions are adequately validated and tested prior to implementation, define reporting requirements, define/improve workflow, coordinate with trainers, define corporate project needs, and define interface requirements as necessary.
    • Conducts Level 2 testing for development initiatives while documenting testing results.
    • Serves as a SME (subject matter expert) for Level 3 (end user) testing.
  • Responsible for all aspects of benefit development, testing and user support; as well as ensures accurate performance of all existing and new system enhancements through comprehensive testing.
    • Demonstrate basic knowledge of benefits and good judgment in evaluating requests.
    • Monitor and resolve benefit inquiries within established timelines.
    • Integrate and recommend opportunities for improvements in the benefit configuration process for assigned clients.
    • Know when to raise an issue to management because it has the potential to result in poor data with a significant impact.
  • Ensure that project timelines are monitored, met, and reported on a weekly basis. Ensure that project timelines and objectives are reviewed with the Team Lead and/or Manager. Ensure that projects are updated in database timely.
  • Under the guidance of the Manager and Team Lead, assists on implementation projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
    • Position will be involved in all corporate projects that may have an impact on the core system design, configuration, and resource planning and serve as subject matter expert as required.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High school/GED diploma is required.
    • Associates Degree preferred.
  • Relevant Work Experience: Experience with benefit configuration or claims is preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Strong customer service, analytical and communication skills.
    • Ability to conceptualize and develop non-standard business solutions.
    • Ability to perform systematic and logical analysis of both situations and data.
    • Ability to work autonomously and efficiently solve problems on a day-to-day basis.
    • Ability to multi task.
    • Superior attention to detail
