SVP, Regional Chief Medical Officer
Region 2- Tri-State/ Mid-Atlantic- NY, PA, MD, DE, NJ, CT

Mission:

To provide clinical leadership and oversight in the Beacon Regional teams.
Advance the cause of behavioral health care by providing clinical and evidence-based thought leadership to policy makers, clients, providers and other key Beacon stakeholders.

Outcomes:

  1. Provide clinical expertise and viewpoint on the Regional leadership team.
  2. Provide leadership and guidance to Regional clinical activities.
  3. Oversee Beacon clinical and quality initiatives and provide evidence-based thought leadership in the clinical area.
  4. Participate fully in the Regional leadership team and provide clinical input and assistance in meeting Regional business goals.
  5. Be a key participant in sales prospecting, RFP proposals, and finalist meetings
  6. Lead the quarterly regional clinical and quality meeting
  7. Hold clinical thought leadership update with 100% of top-10 regional clients 2x each year; hold clinical thought leadership update with 100% of clients 1x each year.
  8. Hold 1:1 meetings with 100% of client CMOs 2x each year.
  9. Participate in conferences/seminars to drive Beacon’s clinical point of view
  10. Contribute to development of annual clinical programming/strategies for top regional clients

Job Description

The Regional CMO is the primary representative of Beacon’s clinical vision within the region. Internally the RCMO will be the lead Medical clinician and will work with the Medical Directors in the region to accomplish Beacon’s clinical goals. This role supports alignment between clients’ clinical needs and Beacon’s clinical strategy through participation in sales and development activities, advocacy, and ongoing client engagement. The RCMO serves as the client’s strategic clinical partner for all matters regarding behavioral healthcare – providing perspective on how Beacon’s products and services can meet their needs. He or she will also advise corporate clinical, product development, MP, etc. if developments in capabilities are necessary to capture clinical trends in the marketplace; as a clinical expert, the RCMO aims to proactively develop creative solutions to improve outcomes for the regional membership. The RCMO will support regional growth efforts by engaging in cultivating new client relationships and selling new contracts, representing Beacon’s clinical innovation with prospective clients.

Beyond client solutioning and relationships, the CMO will foster Beacon’s clinical reputation with other key regional stakeholders (elected officials, regulators, providers, etc.). He or she will assist the Market President, RCPO, Account Executives, Sales Executives and Government Affairs Executives in advocating with regulators and policymakers. As relevant, the RCMO will identify high-impact speaking engagements to further Beacon’s clinical thought leadership and reputation in the broader behavioral healthcare community.

Minimum Entry Level Qualifications

  • Education:     MD/DO with American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Certification in Psychiatry
  • Licensures:     Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine

Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

  • At least 5 years of direct patient care experience
  • 10-15 years of  experience in managed care and complex systems management preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
