We are currently recruiting for a dynamic SVP of Business Development with Behavioral Health & Manage Care high product sales experience to join our Beacon Health Options team in West Region. The ideal candidate must have experience working with health plans, state/local government providing clinical or administrative services.

About the Position

The SVP Business Development is responsible for new sales growth through customer acquisition. The SVP should develop and maintain a strong new business pipeline, managing both early and late stage opportunities. The SVP of Business Development will develop strong client relationships, develop solutions for Beacon to be a valuable Business Partner to our clients, and be able to shape health plan and government issued RFPs. The SVP is on point to engage the regional implementations team, account management team, and operations early on in the process, as well as to manage realistic client expectations during sales cycle and contracting process. Effective collaboration and strong external relationship building will be critical for success.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver new business necessary to grow a regional EBITDA target established annually
  • Leads assigned sales force
  • Partner with account teams to generate a growth pipeline that consistently delivers an increase in revenue and gross margin
  • Collaborate with Regional Account team, Regional CMO, and Government Affairs to develop a plan to identify and cultivate new clients
  • Monitor critical metrics and meet regional sales target each year
  • Involve critical Beacon stakeholders (e.g. Account Executives, Ops Pods) in the contracting process to ensure new contracts are implemented on time and on-budget
  • Assist the regional team in achieving a high level of client retention year-over-year
  • Coordinate with Product Development and Regional Chief Medical Officer to include new clinical product(s)in each proposal
  • Provide input to the Corporate Product Development team on a number of opportunities yearly to create profitable and efficacious products that meet strategic needs of client prospects
  • Take ownership of the sales cycle from lead qualification through to contracting and engage the regional implementations team, account executives, and Ops Pods early to ensure issues and concerns are addressed at the onset as well as to manage realistic client expectations during sales cycle and contracting process.
  • Build strong internal and external relationships which ensure effective collaboration. Support regional and corporate growth initiatives.
  • Develop and effectively communicate the challenges and opportunities created by changes in regulation and prospective client needs
  • The Sales Lead will need Partner with the Regional CMO on clinical initiatives in-region as they relate to new business and provide the corporate product development team with insights “from the field” to create profitable and efficacious products that meet strategic needs of client prospects

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, with advanced degree preferred (MBA preferred)

Licensure:  None required

Relevant Work Experience:  10+ years of experience working in a client facing role in a healthcare environment or within a business that is directly working with health plans, state/local government providing clinical or administrative services
