ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic Supervisor of Claims Disbursement to join our team at our office in Norfolk, VA.  The Supervisor of Claims Disbursement is responsible for supervising personnel and processes in claims finance department.  Stands in for manager as needed.  Troubleshoots production issues, obtaining technical support when required.  Maintains system set up for all new business.  Performs testing as needed on system enhancements.  Handles escalated and high profile issues.  Oversees audit requests, managing departmental production needs while delivering requested documents within requested timeframes.

Position Responsibilities:

    • Supervise all claims finance staff, tracking time and attendance, as well as processing time cards.  Take vacation requests, and approve as department needs allow. 
    • Troubleshoot all production issues in MHS or with outside vendors to ensure that production schedules are adhered to.  Escalate any issues with IT as necessary.
    • Maintain system set up for new business and changes to existing business, including interest set up and developing finance medical posting tables as needed.
    • Work with IT contributing to system enhancements and performing testing for programming changes that could potentially affect the finance system.
    • Handle escalated and high profile issues – through to resolution.
    • Manage audit requests to ensure that they are completed on time. 
    • Backup the Claims Disbursement Manager.
    • Assist with the processing of 1099’s to include all IRS reporting.
    • Monthly financial Reporting for all clients.

Position Requirements:

Education: Some college preferred

Licensure:  n/a

Relevant Work Experience:  Three (3) years of office experience in the medical field preferred, including medical billing or accounting software.  Three (3) years supervisory experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Basic computer skills required, including Excel, Word, Power Point and Project Manager

  • Must possess good written, communication and organizational skills

  • Must be able to operate a calculator

  • Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment
