Job Description


The SVP of Performance and Planning is a critical role to oversee and improve the end to end contracting process, standardize workflows across the organization and drive overall network operations improvement.  This position is part of the overall Network Strategy restructuring.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performance Management - Overall identify and develop solutions that improve the network team’s performance
  • Work closely with the Network Strategy function and Network Operations areas to ensure alignment on goals
  • Consistency - Works with Regional initiative leadership to ensure consistency of national programs related to Provider Relations, Contracting, VBP and other initiatives
  • Contracting - Develop approach to new single contract for the company where applicable
  • Reimbursement strategies – develop company capabilities on reimbursements. Retroactive adjustments; Single Case Agreements; DRGs; Case rates; Bundles and ensure operations can support
  • EAP - Support Employer Division EAP contracting efforts
  • Builds - Lead team that supports network build outs and gap fills in the regions
  • Training - Develop training with training department to ensure network staff have requisite skills and understanding of overall function to achieve their goals
  • Alignment with Core functions - Identify opportunities for Network to optimize interactions with Clinical and Service Operations teams to ensure alignment and support strategic goals
  • Proposals – support proposal efforts as they arise by coordinating responses with proposal area
  • Rates – support the rate setting process with the regions
  • Audits – Single point of contact for client audits of network and work with Region VP and team to gather materials and develop responses
  • Implementations – Single point of contact for supporting network implementations and expansions by working with New Network build team, Regional leads and contracting team and Provider data
  • Supports and works in collaboration with peers to create best practices
  • Leads a team and is responsible for:
    • Overall lifecycle of employee
    • Develops, coaches and educates staff to support success and development
    • Compliance with all related employee trainings, reviews and requirements as applicable
  • Travel to sites as required

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree Required. Master’s Degree or higher preferred.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • Demonstrated 6-8 years of experience within health care in Network organization of a payer. 
  • Leader of people and process.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills
  • Effective leadership and analytical skills, including network management
  • Exceptional ability to develop and manage results-oriented recruiting and training programs
  • Strong mentoring and relationship building skills with ability to effectively manage large groups
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Outlook and Word with Excel skills
  • Proven experience leading teams through periods of significant growth or change
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to lead and motivate a growing and changing service operation; able to engage with directors and managers at all levels across the business to achieve goals and objectives
