Job Description


We are currently seeking a dynamic REGIONAL NETWORK MANAGER to join our team at our office in BOSTON, MA.  The REGIONAL NETWORK MANAGER will be responsible for implementing regionally based strategies to meet statewide clinical, quality, utilization and network improvement goals through the use of data and positive working relationships with providers and state agencies. Works collaboratively with member of the Integrated Regional Team to ensure coordinated network management activities are consistent with the department’s strategic plan.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements regional network management strategy in collaboration with the Regional Director (RD) and the Integrated Regional Team

  • Identifies service gaps in the region, and works with Regional Director (RD) to develop/modify programs to meet service delivery needs.

  • Works to ensure appropriate access to quality services on a member specific and regional basis. Incorporates cultural competency, rehab, resilience and recovery principles in fulfilling network management and development responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains relationships with key clinical and administrative leadership within the provider network

  • Meets regularly with Inpatient, Outpatient, Divisionary, and Emergency Service providers to support regional network management work plan, ensuring contract compliance and ensuring access managing utilization and improving quality

  • Works with the Integrated Regional Team to manager provider performance towards established goals, offering consultation and clarification of MBHP clinical and network policies and standard to providers and engaging them in developing and implement quality improvement and corrective action as needed

  • Oversees regional network quality management and implement with provider’s statewide and individual quality improvement goals.

  • Investigates provider incidents and/or complaints in conjunctions with MBHP quality department. Utilized such data as consumer satisfaction surveys and medical record review to improve quality

  • Conducts macro-level utilization management with network providers. Produces inpatient utilization data, analyzes data by facility and by region, recognizes trends and practice patterns, and engages providers in establishing improvement strategies and goals.

  • Represents the department as a member of performance incentive teams, committees, and task forces as needed

  • Consumer and community groups. Travel is to be expected with these responsibilities

Position Requirements:

Education: Master’s Degree in Psychology or related field 


Relevant Work Experience:   A minimum of 5 years’ experience in mental health/substance abuse field.  Experience in managed care or with state agencies preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, COGNOS

  • Ability to produce, analyze, manage and utilize data in working with providers and other stakeholders

  • Project management skills

  • Public speaking skills and ability to chair meetings is required

  • Time management and organizational skill

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Own a car and willing to travel within the Commonwealth
