ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking dynamic Quality Management Specialist to join our team in Chesapeake, VA.  The Quality Management Specialist II is responsible for analytical and technical support to Quality Management by identifying opportunities to enhance service delivery through a formal, structured, quality management program.  

This position requires a Statement of Public Trust

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assists with design strategies for process evaluation and process improvement to include: data collection, analysis, conclusions, and recommendations. Participates in the development and implementation of QM outcome/research studies. 
  • Assists in identifying Service Center wide quality standards in collaboration with both internal and external departments.
  • Collects data utilizing various data sources.
  • Works collaboratively with the Beacon Health Options SC Data Analyst to develop reporting mechanisms, revise and validate data.
  • Performs re-measure at denoted intervals, analyze, incorporate, and update all associated databases and documents. Presents findings both verbally and in writing as appropriate.
  • Utilizes various quality improvement tools to present significant findings.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles and practice of quality management and incorporates into daily practice.
  • Encourages staff participation in data collection, analysis, and reporting while providing appropriate training to facilitate staff growth and enhance staff knowledge of the quality improvement process components.
  • Participates in and communicates information to the Beacon Health Options Center QIP Subcommittee, QMC, and other internal and external entities as required. Assists with compilation of data for reporting into committees and completion of agenda, minutes, invitations to external candidates and summaries as indicated.
  • Assists with creation, review, and editing of QM related P & P and SOPs.
  • Collect, maintain, analyze and report data, within the established timelines, regarding assigned outcome/research studies, utilizing computer systems to provide appropriate data representation and critical thinking to determine trends and/or causes for variations.
  • Assist with compilation of the annual CQMP report.
  • Review and investigate Program Integrity issues as assigned.  Prepare related reports and correspondence as required. Collaborate and forward as appropriate cases.
  • Received, investigate and process to completion all complaints, grievances and compliments.
  • Project Management including conceptualization, design, implementation, review and analysis for internal, external and corporate wide initiatives.
  • Problem resolution and action plan proposals based on data from formal and informal studies and data review/analysis.
  • Attend committee meetings as QM representative, as requested.
  • Conduct statically valid studies and implement and monitor Quality Improvement Projects, Initiatives, and clinical studies for behavioral health.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with co-workers.
  • Completes all required training and complies with established HIPAA guidelines and reports any possible violations immediately to his/her immediate supervisor and/or the designated HIPAA officer.  
  • Attends scheduled team and department meetings as required and actively participates as requested.
  • Actively participates in mentoring of new staff members and is a team player to ensure all department goals are met.
  • Assists with preparation for annual QM audit.
  • Assists with special projects and all other duties assigned by management.

     Position Requirements:

  • Education:  Associate Degree, prefer Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Licenses:  None
  • Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:  Must have 3 years of managed care experience and prefer previous systems/data analysis experience, preferably in a mental health care setting.
