Job Description


We are currently seeking a dynamic Part Time (10 hours/week) Psychiatrist to join our team at our office in Seven Fields, PA.  The Psychiatrist assists the Medical Director consulting to our network of  providers who are caring for members who are eligible for both Medicaid and Medicare health insurance coverage.  This represents an expansion membership for us and we are looking to support our providers in caring for these new members.  The psychiatrist will provide phone consultation to those providers in curbside fashion to  inform quality, cost-effective care to be carried out by the provider.   

Position Responsibilities:

The psychiatrist provides an on call resource for difficult cases and would be available 10 hours per week to answer calls initiated by providers caring for LTSS members in nursing home units. 

For each call, the psychiatrist provides case related educational information about how a similar patient might be treated and what options might be tried in such cases.  He/She will also record basic information about the consults such as the facility calling, county of residence, and issue discussed and submits that information on a regular basis to the office..

Position Requirements:

Education : M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school, with Board certification in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatrists and Neurology required.

Licensure:  Unrestricted Active Medical License required.  Geriatric Board Certification preferred

Relevant Work Experience:    Position requires a minimum of five (5) years of clinical practice in mental health.  Experience at a mental health facility with inpatient and outpatient care is desirable. Position requires familiarity with medical care delivery systems, and experience with utilization management, quality improvement, and peer review is an advantage.  Knowledge, experience, and demonstrated success in medical/clinical management operations in a managed care environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Significant familiarity with caring for geriatric population is required.

Consult liaison experience is very helpful.

Demonstrates skills suitable to working with contracts, provider relations, and member services and interpreting benefits.

Excellent written and oral communication organizational skills.

Detail orientated, able to work independently in an ever changing environment.

Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook
