Job Description


We are currently seeking a strategic HEALTH PLAN PROJECT MANAGER to join our team at our office in WOBURN, MA. The HEALTH PLAN PROJECT MANAGER reports to the Manager of Performance Improvement, Quality and works closely with the MBHP project manager to develop work plans and interventions for quality improvement activities.  Both qualitative and quantitative analytics and evaluation techniques will be employed in reporting and presenting findings.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyze data from various sources using excel and other statistical tools, such as SAS, as well as data from HEDIS, Quality Compass, medical record audits, and other data sources.Crosswalk data, merge, and intersect information from various points of origin to develop new measurement strategies and means for evaluation.
  • Develop Quality Improvement strategies by analyzing data and observing service, utilization, and quality of care gaps.Apply appropriate statistical techniques and methodology to suggest performance improvement opportunities and targets.
  • Lead cross-departmental teams in designing interventions.Demonstrate strong project management skills to organize project and lead people toward shared goals.Continuously involve stakeholders in decision making and provide project updates.Accountable for completion and report-out of projects.
  • Manage work plans and meet deadlines for tasks and activities related to quality improvement.
  • Develop measurement and evaluation plans. Design and submit measures specifications and liaise with Knowledge and Management Reporting as the business owner from start to completion of measure development.Update specifications as business needs or compliance criteria change.Create custom reports and review reports for quality assurance.
  • Adapt interventions across health plans to meet client needs.
  • Develop data management system to monitor, analyze, evaluate, and trend quality improvement projects.
  • Generate reports of data analyses, including both written analysis and graphical presentation of data.Utilize comparative measures, benchmarks, and targets to evaluate improvement.
  • Support reporting requirements for NCQA, EQRO and other accrediting agencies.Participate in the development of projects the meet requirements at the request of Health Plan partners.
  • Communicate findings and analysis and generate original reports to be utilized in Quality Management and Quality improvement cycle.
  • Support Provider Quality in Quality Improvement projects by assisting with data analysis.
  • Participate in client appointments, develop PowerPoints, and present to stakeholders.Write reports for contract deliverables and delegation agreements

Position Requirements:

Education: MPH or MA in healthcare or other relevant industry; or commensurate work experience in managed behavioral health organizations

Licensure: N/A

Relevant Work Experience: 5+ years of experience employing multi-faceted skills in a fast paced environment performed with a large degree of autonomy

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possesses strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrates outstanding decision-making and critical thinking skills
  • A strong understanding of the strategic vision of the organization and particularly the quality department is required.
  • Ability to establish and lead teams, work with multiple constituencies, and develop shared goals is pivotal
  • Proven record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects is a must
