We are currently seeking an analytical PROJECT MANAGEMENT QUALITY IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST I to join our team at our office in WOBURN, MA.

The PM QI SPECIALIST I will report to and work closely with the Director of Quality, Northeast and is a highly-organized and disciplined team member who can manage multiple projects and ensure deadlines are met. This position requires a high degree of autonomy as well as collaboration within the clinical and quality department, other Beacon departments, and Beacon’s provider network. The Project Management Quality Improvement Specialist will be expected to identify areas of improvement in his/her scope and execute action plans towards those improvements, with the support of leadership.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the medical record request and review of approx. 3000 records annually (ex. inpatient, outpatient, substance use, etc)
    • Develop and maintain a dashboard of progress towards the annual goal, including tracking project milestones
    • Maintain and follow an accurate standard operating procedure
    • Collaborate with Beacon clinicians, who review the records
    • Pull providers and members from our information system according to set methodology
    • Send requests to providers after confirming accuracy of the contact information
    • Send feedback letters to providers and field general questions about the record review process
  • Project manage the approx. 1000 deliverables and reports annually delivered to our clients to ensure timely delivery
    • Monitor the current and future deliverable progress and alert leadership to any concerns.
    • Maintain a dashboard/tracker of progress towards the annual goal
    • Assist with gathering documents for larger projects
  • Organize and support collecting data for delegation oversight audits (with the goal of scoring 90% or greater per audit on the quality portion of the delegation oversight)
    • Be the liaison for the quality department to identify
    • Collaborate with quality team members to obtain needed information
  • Administratively support quality improvement activities in the region
    • Efficiently mailing targeted letters and educational materials to providers
    • Data entry and investigating in Beacon’s information system, as needed
    • Assist in the planning and documenting of meetings
    • Assist in developing, planning, and execution of quality improvement activities

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required; experience in managed behavioral health or general healthcare industry a plus

Licensure: N/A

Relevant Work Experience: 1-3 years’ experience in managed care or behavioral health preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possesses strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrates outstanding decision-making and critical thinking skills
  • A strong understanding of the strategic vision of the organization and particularly the quality department is required.
  • Ability to establish and lead teams, work with multiple constituencies, and develop shared goals is pivotal
  • Proven record of meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects is a must
