Beacon is currently seeking a Program Trainer to join our team at our Chesapeake, VA office. The trainer is responsible for developing, implementing and conducting both technical and clinical training for all department staff.

What does a typical day look like?

•         Be proficient in the use of all required Care Connect systems, along with in-depth knowledge of the government’s Case Management System (CMS).

•         Ensure the provision of both technical and clinical trainings for Military OneSource staff to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their job duties. This will include classroom training, individual tutorials, developing tip sheets and training resource sheets to aid in learning.

•         Work closely with all other members of the training team to continue with development of training materials and conduct new hire training as needed.

•         Work closely with technical trainers to assist with Care Connect systems’ testing and government Case Management System testing.

•         Work with management, supervisors and employees to gain knowledge of training needs and to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiatives and technologies.

•         Work closely with the clinical quality auditors to ensure consistency between training and auditing.

•       Formulate teaching outlines and determine instructional methods such as: individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings and workshops.

•         Write material for new training programs; review, evaluate, and modify existing and proposed programs; recommend appropriate changes.

•          Select or develop teaching aids such as; training handbooks, demonstrations models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference books.

•         Write material and conduct training sessions covering specified areas such as; on-the-job training, refresher training, etc.

•         Test trainees to measure progress and to evaluate the effectiveness of training. Report employee progress during training.

What you Contribute?

Education: A Master’s Degree in a mental health profession required.

Licensure: Psychologist, LMSW, LPS, LMFT, or LCSW preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of work in a position where training was a primary function of the role including content development and delivery to individuals and groups.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of work in healthcare or related field.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to speak fluent English required.
