We are currently seeking a dynamic Performance and Outcomes Analyst III to join our team in the COlorado Springs, CO office.  Under the direction of the Vice President, Quality Management, this position provides leadership in the design and implementation of quality and performance improvement projects (PIPS) and other quality-related initiatives from inception through conclusion. Duties associated with these projects include data analysis, collaborative project design, associated data collection activities including extracting and manipulating data, use statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful reports depicting trends in performance measures, conducting basic statistical analysis , report writing, and presenting results at committee meetings.  The Analyst is responsible for understanding and assisting with updating performance measure methodology, and using quality improvement techniques to improve organizational and/or provider performance. Additional duties include coordinating and/or attending quality management, clinical, State and partnership meetings, and ensuring clear and timely communication of changes, timelines and decisions related to improvement projects. Within this role, the Analyst will also provide support/assistance for development and implementation of improvement projects for partner organizations, including BHO and RCCO providers.  

Position Responsibilites: 

  • Organizes, analyzes and trends performance-related clinical, and quality data for the Beacon Health Options Engagement Center, RAE Partnerships, the State of Colorado or EQRO as required. Works with department manager to outline specific data needs for each project.
  • Takes the lead in developing and implementing contract-required performance improvement projects and initiatives. This includes literature searches, development and implementation of PIP/study methodology and documentation, data extraction, statistical analysis, developing, coordinating and/or implementing interventions with providers to achieve and maintain improvement. Maintain written PIP documentation according to state/EQRO requirements, including submission according to prescribed timelines.
  • Maintains data for assigned projects and performance measures, conducts analyses of performance data, develops reports that identify, summarize and interpret both positive and negative data/performance trends, and makes recommendations for improvement or change as needed.
  • Responsible for updates to and maintenance of State-required performance measure methodology, participating in State performance measure work groups, and coordinating with Beacon Data Analytics Department in the production of the measures.
  • Responsible for identifying engagement center or partnership analytic needs, reports or project proposals, and documentation of requirements for new or revised studies, projects, or reports. Assists in implementing and managing quality and outcomes projects, according to requirements and timelines, as assigned.
  • May work interdependently, with other departments, Beacon partners and providers, and the Colorado Department of Healthcare Policy and Financing to evaluate outliers and identify issues through analysis of data/reports, using improvement principles as appropriate to task. Represents Beacon and/or the RAE partnerships at meetings as assigned. Some travel is required.
  • Responsible for a variety of contract deliverables, including Performance Improvement Projects, aspects of  the Annual Quality Management Evaluation and associated data analytics as needed, conducting Inter-rater reliability study for auditors prior to the annual 411 Encounter/Claim Validation Audit, preparation of documents for State/EQRO/Delegation audits as needed.

Position Qualifications:

Education:  RN or Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field (e.g. Public Health, Psychology); Master's Degree Preferred

Licensure:  LCSW, LMFT, RN preferred

Relevant Work Experience: 3 years’ experience in healthcare, preferably as a healthcare data analyst or researcher. Experience in developing studies, conducting statistical analyses; knowledge of healthcare claims data and behavioral health preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
