ABOUT THE POSITION:

The Corporate Paralegal will be responsible for preparing and submitting corporate regulatory filings and license renewal applications on behalf of Beacon Health Options and related entities.  The position will also support such other functions as may be assigned.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and submits regulatory filings, annual reports, initial licensure applications, and licensure renewals submissions for Beacon Health Options entities with the Secretaries of State Offices, Departments of Insurance, CMS, and others.
  • Prepares biographical affidavits, fingerprints and background investigations as required for regulatory and client filings.
  • Serves as point of contact for regulatory agencies and as liaison between internal and external principals to ensure timely filing, review and approval of all corporate filings and license applications.
  • Project manages the resolution of corporate filing concerns identified by internal stakeholders during licensing process.
  • Collaborates with Clinical, Compliance and other internal stakeholders to anticipate the impact of regulatory requirements on Beacon policies, procedures, workflow, etc. and assists with the development and implementation of new requirements across Beacon Health Option companies. Promotes compliance with applicable laws, and participates on project teams and work groups as appropriate.
  • Organizes and maintains corporate records related to regulatory filings and other areas.
  • Assists corporate staff attorneys in business organization, document management and litigation.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned and required.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required. Degree with a concentration in legal/paralegal studies preferred.
  • Licenses: Paralegal certificate preferred but not required.

Relevant Work Experience: 

  • Requires at least 2 years of progressive experience in law firm or in-house legal practice, preferably in corporate or regulatory practice.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage under aggressive firm deadlines, interacting and working in a team environment with all levels of staff and management, and producing results while achieving appropriate level of controls and innovation.
