Job Description


We are currently seeking a dynamic Operations Account Analyst II to join our team at our office in Rocky Hill, CT.  The Operations Account Analyst II will be responsible for performing financial analysis and reporting on client accounts in the Public Sector Division: includes monthly preparation and analysis of management reports including revenue, expense, CM, FTE, membership, contract variances, performance targets, and fiscal analysis of client agreements.  Assisting with budget preparation. Preparation of related journal entries. Researching local initiatives. Serving as a liaison between account management team and finance.

Position Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger: Oversee assigned PSD ledgers. Manage distribution of site operating expenses to various departments, contracts, and other site ledgers.

  • Engagement Center Administrative Reports: Prepare monthly reports that reflect trends in Rev/Exp/CCM; FTE; Spending Rates; and Performance Targets. Computer run rate analysis. Analyze revenue and expense by contract source. Assist with MOR (Monthly Operating Report).

  • Internal Utilization Management Reports: Research and identify utilization and unit cost trends and spending rates including PMPM.

  • Budget: Complete the annual budget preparation (revenue, medical, and operating expenses) and perform ongoing monthly variance analysis to ensure that budget targets are achieved.

  • For assigned sites, serve as Primary Financial Resource: Trouble-shooting with respect to payroll coding; invoice payments, etc. Attend client meetings as needed.

  • Specialized reporting and analysis, including preparation and analysis of quarterly and annual state reconciliation reports.

  • Safeguarding of assets through comparison of monthly national fixed asset reports.

  • Apply Beacon policies and procedures consistently. Maintain confidentiality of Clients, Business Records and Reports. Maintain ethical and professional standards. Maintain individual productivity and performance standards. Meet Departmental expectations, accuracy, productivity, and performance standards. Complete tasks accurately and within required timeframes. Promote and adherer to the components of the Compliance Program.

  • Ensure that job tasks are performed in a legal and ethical manner. Actively assess work area for non-compliance issues and notify supervisor or call Ethics Hotline. Adhere to compliance training requirements and understand that training is a required condition of employment.

Position Requirements:

Education: This position requires a Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting or related field.

Licensure:  None required.

Relevant Work Experience:   Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computerized accounting systems required.  Proficiency in Hyperion / Oracle systems strongly preferred.  At least five - seven years of work experience with at least three in the managed healthcare industry preferred.  Knowledge of Medicaid and behavioral health sector is preferred.

  • Excel Essbase proficiency

  • Oracle Financial Systems proficiency

  • Familiarity with GAAP

  • Month-end close knowledge

  • Demonstrated organizational skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently
