Beacon is currently seeking a Manager of Operations and Implementations to join our team. This person can be located Remotely. This position will be responsible for the execution of all implementation functions necessary to meet the needs of new contracts or annual benefit updates to existing contracts. Position is responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire lifecycle, establishes leading role of the PM in driving goal attainment, schedule adherence and issue resolution. Reporting into the AVP, Operations & Implementations, the Project Manager is able to work independently, setting priorities and managing across multiple projects as necessary. Position provides operational support to the regional/divisional COO for onboarding new programs, supporting regional operational collaboration and implementing new regional operational tools and strategies. Identifies and escalates issues within the project team and to the AVP, Operations & Implementations. Interfaces with all staff levels and across the enterprise, including regularly developing reports for senior management. Models appropriate communication skills at each level of discussion.  Ensures adherence to quality standards, reviews project deliverables, identifies and mitigates risks with the team and provides all stakeholders with weekly status updates. Fosters constructive relationships with management up to SVP level in all stakeholder groups.

What does a typical day look like?

  • Responsible for effective management and operational set-up of large and complex contract implementations including client interface, internal and external communication and coordination among all implementation leads to ensure an effective and successful implementation occurs.
  • Directs and executes the tasks as defined in the project plan in order to achieve project goals.
  • Assists with intra-region collaboration and extra-region coordination
  • Assists to the AVP, Operations & Implementations on project management activities that impact all regional implementation activities.
  • Works with AVP, Operations & Implementations and business leaders to ensure resource availability, workload and performance as well as to drive project vision through effective risk management and manage changes through a defined change management system. Implements the approved actions and workarounds required to mitigate project risk events in order to minimize the impact of the risks on the project.
  • Provides scheduled reports and updates to the AVP, Operations & Implementations on all assigned implementations.
  • Analyzes and records detailed contract requirements, constraints, and assumptions with stakeholders in order to establish the project deliverables, using requirement-gathering techniques (e.g., planning sessions, brainstorming, focus groups) and the project charter.
  • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and a technique in order to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders.
  • Documents high-level risks, assumptions, and constraints using historical data and expert judgment in order to understand project limitations.

What you Contribute?

Education: Minimum Education: BA/BS in Business Administration, Health Care, IT or related area required. In lieu of a BA/BS, strong candidates that meet all other qualifications and relevant work experience requirements and have achieved one of the below certifications will be considered

Licensure: Project Management Institute, PgMP or PMP (Project Management Professional),Six Sigma Project Management, or similar certification, preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum 4-6 years’ experience as a Project Manager, Account Executive or in a MBHO Operations area.
  • Skilled in managed care operations or information systems.
  • Working knowledge or many operational areas, i.e. clinical, claims, customer service, and/or quality management.
  • Knowledge of health plans and/or Medicaid behavioral health and human services managed care operations.
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, results oriented, self-starter. Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to develop and coordinate short and long term planning activities. Ability to analyze and document workflows.
