About the Internship Opportunity:

The Healthcare Leadership Development Program is a summer internship aimed at providing graduate students with an experience that will enrich their understanding of the challenges and complexities of healthcare service delivery. Students will have access to senior management along with executive visibility and direct supervisory support to offer guidance and feedback. The program will take place in our Boston, MA corporate headquarters with potential full-time placements across the country. Students will have the opportunity to gain exposure across a variety of corporate departments including Corporate Medical Management (Clinical and Quality), Corporate Strategy (Product) and Corporate Operations (Analytics and Process Improvement). Specific projects will be tailored and designed to match the candidate’s skills and career goals, as well as the department needs.

 Position Responsibilities May Include:

  • Participate in key projects to support excellence in clinical and quality initiatives and programs at Beacon
  • Support strategy for Clients’ Clinical Performance Guarantees (PGs)
    • Analyze and review current and historic performance trends
    • Identify risk exposure and develop risk mitigation plans, as well as measurement strategies for managing risk
    • Develop and implement tracking tools for clinical and quality monitoring metrics associated with improved processes and members’ clinical outcomes
  • Support organizational accreditation and re-accreditation efforts
  • Develop tools and systems to support PG attainment
  • Measure the effectiveness of programs to accomplish targeted outcomes
  • Build data and analytic capabilities to assess organizational performance, and improve reporting infrastructure to support a data-driven, evidence based culture
    • Use informatics to direct the organization’s service and clinical objectives

 Job Requirements:

Education: Graduate Students currently enrolled in a two-year program with expected graduation in 2021.

Relevant Work Experience: 3-5 years of experience in operations management, analytics, process improvement or project management. Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred.
