Beacon is currently seeking a Financial Analyst II to join our team at our Rocky Hill, CT office. This position will Perform financial analysis and reporting on client accounts in the Public Sector Division: includes monthly preparation and analysis of management reports including revenue, expense, margin, FTE, membership, contract variances, performance targets, and fiscal analysis of client agreements.  Develop contract budgets, forecasts and client reconciliation reports. Maintain on-going contract analyses and prepare quarterly and annual reconciliation.  Assist with client proposals.  Reconcile claims and non-traditional payments with funding. Serve as a liaison between account management team and finance and provide back up to other financial ledgers.

What does a typical day look like?

  • General Ledger: Oversee assigned PSD ledgers. Manage distribution of site operating expenses to various departments, contracts, and other site ledgers.
  • Engagement Center Administrative Reports: Prepare monthly reports that reflect trends in Rev/Exp/CCM; FTE; Spending Rates; and Performance Targets. Prepare monthly run rate analyses. Analyze revenue and expense by contract source. Assist with monthly reporting of results.
  • Internal Utilization Management Reports: Research and identify utilization and unit cost trends and spending rates including PMPM.
  • Budget: Complete the annual budget preparation (revenue, medical, and operating expenses) and perform ongoing monthly variance analysis to ensure that budget targets are achieved for all contracts within the ledger.
  • For assigned contracts, serve as Primary Financial Resource: Trouble-shooting with respect to payroll and expense coding; invoicing, and accounts receivable, etc. Attend client meetings as needed.
  • Specialized reporting and analysis, including preparation and analysis of state reconciliation reports, and reporting in Client on-line system, and management of non-traditional payment processes and reconciliation.
  • Safeguarding of assets through comparison of monthly national fixed asset reports.
  • Apply Beacon policies and procedures consistently. Maintain confidentiality of Clients,

Business Records and Reports. Maintain ethical and professional standards. Maintain individual productivity and performance standards. Meet Departmental expectations, accuracy, productivity, and performance standards. Complete tasks accurately and within required timeframes. Promote and adherer to the components of the Compliance Program.

  • Ensure that job tasks are performed in a legal and ethical manner. Actively assess work area for non-compliance issues and notify supervisor or call Ethics Hotline. Adhere to compliance training requirements and understand that training is a required condition of employment.

What you Contribute?

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Finance or Accounting.

Licensure: NA

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computerized accounting systems required
  • Proficiency in Hyperion / Oracle systems and Essbase strongly preferred.
  • At least five - seven years of work experience with at least three years of financial analytics preferred.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and behavioral health sector is preferred.
