Job Description

The ETL developer is primarily responsible for understanding the project requirements, writing technical specifications, developing process to import and export data from transactional system using EDI ANSI x12 standards, SSIS packages, Visual basic and database routines. The candidate should be able to work on very dynamic environment such that on occasions gathering requirements from clients, internal clinical and claims team as per the project requirement. We prefer candidates who have prior experience working on 834 membership enrolment and maintenance imports and 837 claims exports as well as proprietary formats such as delimited files. They will be expected to research, identify, and fix production issues as they arise.

Responsibilities: 

  • The EDI developer owns code and architecture related to processes facilitating the exchange of health care data between providers, clients, and our transactional systems. 
  • They are expected to interface closely with analyst teams to review business requirements, and clearly articulate technical limitations and concerns throughout the SDLC process. 
  • The developer is expected to work quickly and effectively in a fast paced environment while being flexible enough to accommodate shifting client needs and priorities. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field required (Computer Science, electric engineering, etc.);
  • 5 or more years of experience with SQL\SERVER Database design, T-SQL development, and SSIS (ETL);
  • 2 years of experience with Visual Basic; experience as a SSRS report developer with working knowledge of BI architectures and relational database systems a plus; experience in the healthcare and/or insurance industry as well as experience with EDI ANSI x12 standards and able to import 834, 837 are preferred;
  • Proven ability to work both independently and in a dynamic team structure;
  • Excellent organization, communication skills and command of written and spoken communication;
  • Strong teamwork ethic and customer support focus;
  • Ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment, highly motivated and creative;
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
