Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION

Provide therapeutic evaluations of mental health and substance abuse clients, which includes the following: diagnostic assessments, determine appropriate treatment referrals, short-term problem resolution counseling and care management functions. Must document all client assessments, follow-ups, and collateral contacts according to Policy and Procedure. Present didactic lectures on Workplace Services programs.  Special projects and all other duties, as assigned. This role is part-time, approximately 22 hours a week onsite at the client. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual counseling sessions with clients for problem identification. Provide needs assessment to determine appropriate treatment program.  Document all client assessments appropriately as indicated by Policy and Procedure.
  • Follow-up with the client and/or provider to ensure needs are met. Ensure treatment plan is followed.  Verify and track results.  Document all client follow-up appropriately as indicated by Policy & Procedure.
  • Conduct case management activities when indicated according to account specific guidelines.  Document all case management activities appropriately as indicated by Policy and Procedure.
  • Conduct didactic presentations, work-site/supervisory consultations, work-site interventions and critical incident debriefing as required by client companies.  Facilitate informative lectures and presentations on Workplace Services programs.  Document all presentations, consultations, interventions, debriefings and lectures appropriately as indicated by Policy and Procedure.
  • Apply Beacon policies and procedures consistently. Maintain confidentiality of Clients, Business Records and Reports. Maintain ethical and professional standards. Maintain individual productivity and performance standards.  Meet Departmental expectations, accuracy, productivity, and performance standards. Support Beacon in achieving Mission Statement.  Adhere to the components of the Compliance Program.  Ensure that job tasks are performed in a legal and ethical manner.  Actively assess work area for non-compliance issues and notify supervisor or call Ethics Hotline.  Adhere to compliance training requirements and understand that training is required condition of employment.   Complete tasks accurately and within required timeframes.

Position Requirements:

Education: Minimum of a master’s degree in related discipline.

Licenses: Current, valid and unrestricted license in a State or territory of the United States in a mental health field (RN, Ph.D., LCSW/ACSW/LMSW, LLP, MHC, LPC, etc.).  Current licensure must be maintained in the state where employed.  Additionally, some client contracts will also require current licensure in the state in which their membership or consumer base resides.

Relevant Work Experience:

  • At least five (5) years of employee assistance experience. 
  • Experience assessing and treating substance abuse problems and threat assessment is required.
