General Summary:  Beacon Health Options seeks part time onsite Employee Assistance Professional (EAP) counselor to provide EAP services onsite at a national employer site in Mesa, AZ.  This is a contract position requiring 28 hours per week onsite time. Hours can be spread over 3 or more days and would typically fall between 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 

The On-Site EAP Counselor provides direct counseling services to employees, management of condition of employment cases, and management consultation with and support to all levels of management. In addition, the onsite EAP counselor is responsible for the provision of topical seminars and EAP orientations, critical incident support services and other organizational support including participation in the threat management committee.

Candidates must have a Arizona Behavioral Health Clinical License and minimum of five (5) years post masters clinical experience. Experience with workplace issues, diverse populations and the corporate environment is desired. CEAP certificatoin preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides brief counseling (up to six sessions) on-site at client’s work site locations as assigned.
  • Refers into individual member benefit plans when clinically appropriate. Assures appropriate level of care and coordinates with the CA service center as appropriate.
  • Case manages positive drug/alcohol, work performance, threat of violence and fitness for duty referrals.  Provides data to Beacon Health Options® for reports.
  • Provides consultation and trainings to client worksite representatives regarding managing troubled employees and other human resource and wellness topics.
  • Ensures continuity of patient care through contact with providers as needed.
  • Maintains and inputs data into system for monthly, quarterly and end of the year reports to meet client’s reporting requirements.
  • Applies Beacon Health Options® Health Performance Solutions policies and procedures consistently to ensure compliance with client’s contractual requirements and Beacon Health Options® standards.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ethical and professional standards; HIPAA compliance.
  • Maintains compliance for contractual performance standards related to EAP case activity.
