Beacon is currently seeking a Director, Operations System Advisor to join our team at our Woburn office. This position will lead a small team of operations system advisors and provide project management for resolution of complex and/or enterprise wide operational issues. The team is charged with engaging and collaborating with business stakeholders to promote operational efficiency and effectiveness of our transactional systems (FlexCare and Connects), as well as assisting in designing the system functionality while considering the interrelationships of the system, applications and processes that encompass the entire platform.

The Director reports to Vice President of Business Integration and Data Governance within the corporate operations lane.  This position interfaces across all internal departments to understand the business requirements and participates in strategic planning that will be operationalized and/or implemented on Beacon’s operations platforms.  The person in this position possesses the ability to work with account management, transactional end users of applications, development and testing resources.  This position has a detailed understanding of operational system applications’ functionality and corresponding business processes. 

What does a typical day look like?

  • Provides daily supervision and management to a small group of operations system advisors.
  • Supports the delivery of operations strategy for the enterprise, capitalizing on opportunities to redefine transactional data management and execution of strategic operations initiatives
  • Responsible for running ad-hoc data analysis and defining KPIs that demonstrate the team’s effectiveness, as well as, the effectiveness of the team’s projects and solutions.
  • Possesses a detailed understanding of application functionality, system design and business processes
  • Considers business implications of system design modifications to the current and future business environment.
  • Develops operational and system workflows in order to analyze and recommend business process redesign and enhancements.
  • Defines project scope and objectives based on user defined needs and industry standards.
  • Leads requirements gathering meetings with business.
  • Collaborates with all relevant stakeholders to arrive at solution to solve complex application and operational design and functionality issues.
  • Analyzes and proposes revision of existing system logic and documentation as necessary.
  • Works closely with the developers to ensure requirements are being implemented to meet business need and in line with standard practices.
  • Prepares and Coordinates end to end UAT testing of the software solution(s) being developed.
  • Ensures staff are adhering to project plans, timelines and provide support to the project manager.
  • Escalates risks and/or potential risks to their supervisor as needed in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned

What you Contribute?

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field required (Computer Science, Business Systems Administration, Business Administration, or related field). Five years of related experience in lieu of degree will be considered.     

Licensure: NA

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in a business analyst position with proven success in improving efficiencies and implementing cost saving initiatives
  • A minimum of three (5) years of experience in the Health Care industry and/or Managed Care industry, preferably behavioral health managed care
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience conducting software testing, preferably through User Acceptance Testing
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a direct supervisory or manager role
