Job Description


We are currently seeking a dynamic DIRECTOR OF INFORMATICS – CLINICAL QUALITY OUTCOMES to join our team at our office in BOSTON, MA.  The DIRECTOR OF INFORMATICS – CLINICAL QUALITY OUTCCOMES is primarily responsible for the oversight of cross-functional projects that facilitate the development of Beacon Health Options Behavioral Health Clinical Quality Measures. The Director of Informatics Clinical Quality Outcomes reports to the Vice President of Informatics and is responsible for collaborating with Informatics Strategy to inform and support strategic initiatives, facilitating cross-functional projects collaboration with Informatics Strategy, oversee the development and maintenance of HEDIS and market specific quality evaluation metrics to support CQI programming, oversight of the design of Medical Loss Ratio allocation methodologies for the enterprise.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with IT and Healthcare Economics to assess data in order to apply advance analytics that address research needs related to clinical and quality driven outcomes

  • Align the efforts of Beacon Health Options Corporate Strategy and other stakeholders to bring analytical insights to the enterprise

  • Identify predictors of disease and targets for early intervention, statistical and disease area modeling in order to inform clinical programming

  • Utilize of real world data assets in landscape analysis in partnership with clinical and informatics staff

  • Contribute to the efficient re-use and analysis of third party healthcare data to address scientific questions of interest toBeacon Health Options within the Analytics Innovation Center framework

  • Understand subpopulations and outcomes to contribute to more effective clinical development planning and commercial strategies

  • Utilize technologies, tools and data mining frameworks for data analysis, and data integration initiatives

  • Provide analytic oversight for business data needs and makes recommendations that support CQI metrics and clinical programming

  • Work with clients and internal stakeholders in defining key business problems to be solved while developing, maintaining and leveraging key client relationships.

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of current and emerging trends within the healthcare analytics industry

    Position Requirements:

    Education: M.S. degree is required.  Degree in Biostatistics or other relevant discipline such as Epidemiology, Health Economics, Public Health or Computer Science is required.

    Relevant Work Experience:  5 years relevant work experience in the healthcare industry within a pharmaceutical or related company, insurer, or within a health system is required. 3 years’ experience in Healthcare Informatics, Healthcare data analysis, healthcare application development. 1 year Managed Care experience preferred

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in statistical programming (SAS, R), data analysis, data visualization and statistical modeling is required

  • At least 5 years’ experience in programming against large healthcare datasets is required

  • Understanding of clinical programming, and appreciation of research methods, health economics and outcomes research is required

  • Experience with the statistical analysis and management of administrative claims datasets or electronic health/medical records is required

  • Knowledge of medical terminologies – ICD, NDC, SNOMED, MedDRA, LOINC, CPT is preferred
