Job Description


The Director, Enterprise Systems is a technical leadership position responsible for leading the Beacon Enterprise Infrastructure team as we continue our migration to SaaS services, managed services, public/private/hybrid cloud and evolve our DevOps methodology and associated tools. This role requires a leader who can direct teams in a complex technology environment, provide direction to enterprise architects, work with business teams on solutions and evangelize cloud-based platforms. This role will require background in various system delivery models, public cloud technology stack, and be responsible for the for providing guidance in the development, deployment and management of complex systems.


    • Understand business goals and drivers and translate those into an appropriate technical solution.
    • Analyze business and technical requirements, assess capabilities and analyze findings to provide appropriate solution recommendations and adoption strategy.
    • Provide experienced direction with enterprise systems and platform architectural strategy and implementation.
    • Create the conceptual, logical and physical design for full-stack hybrid cloud solutions, mobile, middleware, and microservice software solutions.
    • Research, analyze, recommend and select technical approaches for solving difficult and challenging development and integration problems.
    • Develop presentations for leadership teams around system solution offerings.
    • Develop and deliver proposals to leadership including content, budgetary estimates, risk assessment, and resource requirements.
    • Collaborate as part of larger delivery teams which may include project managers, business analysts, architects, developers, and change management professionals.
    • Provide technical direction and oversight to in-house and vendor software engineering implementation teams.
    • Cultivate and groom architecture governance enterprise standards, guidelines, and documentation.
    • Manage the delivery of highly performant and highly scalable cloud services at an optimized cost.
    • Foster and build a solution architect mindset and culture within enterprise.
    • Evangelize, coach, and groom domain expertise within the team.
    • Develop strategic vendor partnerships and cultivate an environment of innovation.
    • Scale architectural solutions appropriately to account for existing and potential business growth.
    • Leadership, People Management, and Stakeholder Management
    • Establish a culture of high performance, transparency and continuous improvement.


  • 7+ years of experience managing Infrastructure Services nationally
  • Experience in architecture, design and operations of a shared services network
  • Experience in the design and delivery of IaaS / private and hybrid clouds
  • Experience in managing Public Cloud Operations
  • Experience working in DevOps environments
  • Develop and Manage teams and leaders of 24x7 engineering and operations technicians in all facets of their career
  • Must be well versed with innovations and development in the market place with regard to Infrastructure Services, Cloud computing, and Big Data
  • Must have had operational responsibilities with SLAs and OLAs at large enterprise ideally in a Shared Services model supporting multiple lines of business
  • Must be familiar with tools and technologies used for managing operations
  • Must have prior proven experience in run rate reduction, expense management and cost recovery of one or more infrastructure products/services
  • Demonstrated use of metrics to measure success or improvements in areas of responsibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various levels in the organization (e.g., executive, management, individual contributors).
  • A high level of commitment to customer service to both co-workers and clients.
  • Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, team and time management skills.
  • Proven project management abilities.
  • Demonstrate a propensity to act.
  • Experience and knowledge in state and federal information privacy laws, including but not limited to HIPAA is a strong plus
  • Strongly prefer ITIL, Scrum Master & Agile aware or certification
  • Strongly prefer experience and knowledge in newer technologies such as future direction of network and security virtualization & software defined networks. 


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
