About the Position:

The Clinical Director is responsible for the overall performance of BHOCS clinical operations, ensuring that patients are effectively connected with appropriate behavioral health treatment and care management services in an effort to promote their overall well-being. The BHOCS Clinical Director will act as a liaison between BHOCS and key stakeholders to ensure patients receive appropriately integrated medical and behavioral health services.  The BHOCS Clinical Director will help design, implement and run the clinical operations for a practice of social workers providing treatment at various types of outpatient clinics.  The BHOCS Clinical Director will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Designs, develops, and maintains a clinical program to govern the provision of behavioral health treatment including policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures
  • Ensure Beacon corporate policies are followed and local standard operating procedures and processes are developed to support operations of BHOCS
  • Ensure health partner policies are followed and local standard operating procedures and processes are co-developed to support integrated operations of BHOCS and health partner
  • Support sales efforts through participation in proposal writing and development meetings
  • Recruit, train, oversee, and develop key BHOCS clinical staff
  • Supervise and oversee the clinical staff dedicated to BHOCS in their day-to-day operations
  • Ensure appropriate triage and referral of BHOCS patients to clinically appropriate community providers and supports
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on clinical, quality, and other relevant metrics as well as qualitative assessments of overall clinical performance of BHOCS
  • Participates in care team clinical rounds and clinical meetings and as needed in person meetings at the provider sites TBD
  • Identify opportunities for education and clinical assistance to support the BHOCS provider partners in the development and execution of clinical plans for these providers accordingly
  • Represents behavioral health clinical best practice in all clinic and health system interactions
  • Develop and implement initiatives to continually improve BHOCS’s ability to impact all aspects of patient care
  • Implement and monitor the status of all clinical operations of BHOCS, providing feedback to stakeholders and making adjustments to workflows as needed
  • Act as a liaison between BHOCS and provider partners to support the effective integrated alignment of services across organizations
  • Represent BHOCS in client meetings with the provider partners and other BHOCS stakeholders
  • Provide executive level updates regarding the status of BHOCS clinical operations including identified recommendations for changes to the current model

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong behavioral health clinical knowledge base including protocols for evidence-based care for mental health and substance use disorder
  • Ability to balance the need for clinician productivity with the imperative for high quality, personalized provision of care
  • Leadership skills and supervisory experience, including the ability to drive team performance
  • Excellent relationship-management skills
  • Ability to negotiate situations involving competing priorities from multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize multiple issues, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, ability to track multiple projects/tasks and follow through as needed
  • Ability to manage and coordinate with internal and external departments
  • Ability to manage staff in operations environment
  • Ability to identify and act on opportunities for improvements and recommend and implement innovative solutions
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal staff and external stakeholders (provider organizations, clients, etc.)
  • Ability to offer routine clinical supervision to direct staff
  • Ability to present key findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s Degree in a behavioral health-related field and licensure as health professional is required
  • Licenses: Current, valid and unrestricted license in a State or territory of the United States in a mental health field (Ph.D., LCSW/ACSW, LLP, MHC, LPC, etc.)
  • Relevant Work Experience:    Minimum of five (5) years of executive-level experience in a behavioral health provider setting.  Outpatient care with brief solution-focused training strongly preferred
