Beacon is currently seeking a Data Strategy & Governance Manager to join our team at our Boston office. This position will support the Data Governance Director as a member of the Data Governance Office in the implementation of the Data Governance function across the enterprise, to help drive operational effectiveness through proactive data management. The Data Strategy & Governance Manager will facilitate the work of governing key data elements within one or more data domains.

What does a typical day look like?

  • Facilitates the identification, testing, documentation, and evolution of data definitions, data lineage, data quality rules, data quality monitoring, and data quality remediation within defined data domain(s)
  • Supports data domain members in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of data governance policies and procedures
  • Support data domain members in proper metadata documentation and approval
  • Serves as communication liaison among members in the Data Governance Organization across different functional areas
  • Dashboard creation and maintenance of Data Governance Program process and outcomes results
  • Collaborate with IT to implement tool capabilities designed to enable domain member metadata and data quality management activities
  • Contribute to identification and execution of continuous improvement opportunities for Data Governance Program operations
  • Works with the Data Governance Director to ensure that the execution and implementation of Data Governance policies and procedures is in-line with corporate strategy and market and/or regulatory changes
  • Performs governance function education and knowledge transfer for business and technology team members

What you Contribute?

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field of study, or 5+ years of related experience

Licensure: NA

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 5-8 years of experience in data analytics, operations, or data management
  • Previous experience in a data governance environment is a plus
  • Analytical and Problem Solving
    • Demonstrated analytical capabilities, including the ability to frame problem statements and synthesize data requirements, and draw implications from different sources of input
  • Outstanding communication
    • Ability to effectively conduct meetings, elicit information by questioning and active listening, and succinctly articulate analyses and issues; written communication should frame content around key insights, actions required and logical explanation of analyses
  • Able to work with effectively and build consensus with others to drive cross-functional solutions
  • Strong organization and project management skills
  • Detail orientation
  • A good understanding of information management practices
