We serve many high-need and at-risk groups, such as the seriously mentally ill (SMI) population and children with autism, and are the largest MBHO in the Medicaid market.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a dynamic Manager of Corporate Strategy to join our team at our office in Boston, Massachusetts.  The Manager of Corporate Strategy will be responsible for developing and driving market strategies, company growth initiatives, and supporting new product development.  He or she will work closely with our Regional Market leadership to create data-driven, evidence-based solutions for clients.  The Director will also support broader company strategic initiatives that span across regions.  The ideal candidate will have a highly analytical mind, demonstrated leadership experience across cross-functional groups, and the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership. 

Example projects include:

  • Designing innovative clinical programs for Medicaid members with serious mental illness that address socio-economic factors (e.g., housing) as well as medical needs
  • Developing strategic initiatives to address the national opioid crisis, including expanding access to methadone-assisted treatment, educating providers, and creating alternative payment models for providers
  • Identifying opportunities to expand our technological solutions, such as telehealth, digital/online therapies, and self-management tools
  • Creating Beacon’s 5-year strategic growth plan – identifying new growth opportunities, understanding key risks, and developing the operational plan

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

The Manager will be expected to drive strategic projects independently, from initial hypothesis generation through analysis and final recommendation.  The Corporate Strategy team works closely with Regional leadership, corporate functions, clients and providers.  The Manager will be expected to collaborate with functions across the company.  Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and evaluate new business opportunities, at both the local market and national levels
  • Using a data-driven approach to generate market insights
  • Use a mix of primary and secondary research to assess client needs, competitive landscape, and industry trends
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new client and provider programs
  • Synthesize and communicate findings to both internal and external stakeholders through written and oral means
  • Collaborate closely with other teams within Beacon, as well as Beacon’s external partners

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and a desire to learn and contribute to the healthcare industry.  Ability to synthesize insights and communicate effectively with senior leaders is critical.  We are looking for a self-starter who is comfortable executing a plan of attack and willing to go one or two steps beyond to help get the right answer. 

A successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • 2-4 years of work experience, with at least 2 years of consulting, investment banking, or corporate strategy experience preferable
  • Strong command of Excel - ability to build/teach financial models and execute sophisticated data analytics
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to self-manage and drive projects independently
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing business needs and requirements
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare industry
