Job Description

We are currently seeking a dynamic Clinical Services Supervisor to join our team at our office in Colorado Springs, CO.  The Clinical Services Supervisor is a member of on the clinical department’s management team.  This position directly supervises the Clinical Service Assistant staff and serves as back-up to the Clinical Director.  The Supervisor assists with the daily operations of the Call Center which includes (but not limited to) positive customer relations for all contracts served, compliance with contractual/accreditation requirements and effective utilization management.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintains designated operational functions in support of the Clinical Service Assistant (CSA) customer service, outpatient authorization processing, and related duties assigned to the CSA team.

  • Ensures that utilization activities are performed within the established procedures and are URAC compliant.

  • Provide ongoing support, training, and supervision of the CSA Team.

  • Assists the clinical director with monitoring and directing daily operations within the call center.

  • Serves as the lead for training, onboarding and supports ongoing monitoring of clinical staff, including CSA’s, Clinical Care Mangers and Intensive Care Managers.

  • Screens, interviews, and hires CSA staff with input from the clinical director or other manager-level staff. 

  • Reviews and provides correction to NOA letters prior to mailing, as part of clinical department management. Works with Clinical and Medical Management to collaborate with the Office of Member and Family Affairs to ensure letters are written to membership literacy requirements.

  • Works closely with other engagement center and national departments to ensure effectiveness of clinical management and successful systemic operations, to include leadership of Service/Care Connect Testing and insuring team members are trained on all system enhancements.

  • Manages and approves timecards and payroll for CSA Team and serves as back-up for the Clinical Director.

  • Conducts NICE call monitoring reviews for department staff, as per national policy and provides feedback to staff.

  • Assists with maintaining the department SharePoint site.

  • Assists the Clinical Director with maintaining the department staff scheduling planner, holiday calendar, and ensuring department coverage needs are met.

  • Ensures that staff are adhering to approved Beacon Health Options clinical policies and procedures and clinical criteria within the assigned contracts.

  • Provides leadership in process improvement and implementation within assigned scope of duties and for increased departmental efficiency and resources.

  • Participates as a member of the management team of the Clinical Department along with the Clinical Director, collaborating closely with the Medical Directors and Clinical Peer Advisor.

  • Supports budgeting process by monitoring productivity and providing feedback to the Clinical Director in terms of staffing levels needed, equipment, etc.

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in mental health field (psychology, counseling, social work, psychiatric nursing) or related human service field preferred.

Licensure:  N/A

Relevant Work Experience:   Managed care experience of 2+ years with increasing responsibility and preferred history of supervising staff
