ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic Clinical Service Coordinator – Behavioral Health to join our team.  The Service Coordinator assists the clinical staff in identifying and accessing appropriate care and other social services for members.  She/he must be able to manage incoming and outgoing calls and other office duties as assigned, with limited supervision, while having the ability to identify when something needs additional attention or escalation.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Accepts phone calls from members, providers or other service agencies that are requesting additional information on the available clinical services and programs

  • Triages calls and assists in any immediate crisis situations

  • Verifies member eligibility for services through state and county information systems

  • Enters relevant call notes and information in FlexCare

  • Maintains logs and other data bases regarding utilization management and care coordination activities

  • Coordinates with clinical staff in accommodating members’ needs including transitions of care and access to timely appointments.

  • Coordinates with other agencies and staff as needed

  • Consistently provides members, providers and internal staff with exceptional customer service

  • Provides resources to members

  • Maintains schedule that allows for appropriate coverage

  • Other duties as assigned

  • Attends departmental and other meetings as necessary

    Position Requirements:

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services (Social Work, Psychology, and/or Sociology) preferred and/or 2-3 years’ experience in Behavioral Health or other social services environment required.

    Licensure:  N/A

    Relevant Work Experience:   Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in Behavioral Health or other social services environment required.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Call Center, Customer Service experience a plus
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Bilingual in one of the following languages preferred:  Spanish - Chinese: (Mandarin) - Chinese:(Cantonese) - Korean - Vietnamese - Russian or Armenian
