ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic candidate to become a vital behavioral health Clinical Care Manager on our professional clinical team at our call center in Colorado Springs, CO.  The Clinical Care Manager will be responsible for ensuring authorization of medically necessary, covered, quality services at the least restrictive level of care within a coordinated care delivery system for CO Medicaid clients.  This is a full-time exempt position with a focus on serving Colorado Medicaid members. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensures integration of care and effective utilization of resources through review of existing documentation, discussion of services with providers and members, application of clinical guidelines and appropriate authorization of services.

  • Responsible for initial and concurrent clinical review and authorization of medically necessary services for assigned contracts.

  • Documentation and Coding Entries - Demonstrates thorough, relevant clinical documentation and accurate coding on electronic health record computer screens.

  • Contractual Adherence - Adheres to contract specific work flows and related policies and procedures.  Attention to detail and accuracy of completed work is essential. 

  • Emergency Call Management – Triage members calling in crisis for immediate clinical assessment and referral to appropriate care.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Minimum of a master’s degree in mental health related discipline or a minimum of an associate’s degree in nursing with related psychiatric nursing experience. Individuals who conduct clinical reviews must possess an active, professional license or certification in Colorado. 
  • Licensure:  Current, valid and unrestricted license in Colorado (RN, Ph.D., LCSW, LMHC, LPC or LMFT)
  • Relevant Work Experience:  Mandatory minimum 3-5 years of direct practice experience in psychiatric services working with member care.  Experience in settings that include inpatient, partial and/or crisis assessment care are preferred.  Experience as a CAC or LAC for substance use disorder treatment is also desired but not mandatory.  Prior experience in utilization management and call center work is highly preferable. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • Excellent telephonic customer service skills and computer skills are required.

  • Successful candidate must have proven track record of customer service, strong work ethic and be prepared to support teammates in the mission of excellent service to providers and members.

This is an exempt position and the successful candidate will be considered essential personnel for call center coverage and operations support.
