About the Position:

Beacon Health Options is currently seeking a dynamic Claims Supervisor to join our Adjustment Team in our Woburn, MA or Latham, NY office! The Claims Supervisor of the Adjustment Team is responsible for the day to day supervision of the assigned claims team to ensure that departmental standards and client contractual requirements are met and/or exceeded. Reporting to the Claims Manager, the Supervisor is continuously focused on technical process improvement, and creating a positive work environment to support a high performing team by regularly coaching and developing employees to meet performance and developmental goals. The Supervisor is client facing and interfaces with all levels of management staff and cross-functional teams within Beacon.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Monitors the daily activities of the claims team productivity and inventory to ensure that the department and clients service level requirements are met and/or exceeded.
  • Provides assistance and guidance to staff to ensure successful resolution of staff issues.
  • Daily review of workflow within the team to ensure client and department priorities are met.
  • Provides performance data related to production, accuracy, and idle time to employees and to management on a timely basis.
  • Track and trend rework root causes and identify service improvement opportunities by reporting issues to management in a timely manner.
  • Participates in client facing activities and represents department by monitoring related activities for corrective action plans and providing updates during cross-functional meetings
  • Provides continuous coaching, feedback, and development of staff, including but not limited to; holding regular one-on-one meetings, providing ongoing performance feedback and delivery of performance reviews, identifying training needs and opportunities, and addressing performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for the monitoring of attendance, timesheet and staff adherence for department and corporate policies.
  • Displays a positive, constructive, and helpful demeanor and has the ability to work well under pressure and can manage conflict in an effective and positive manner.
  • Responsible for creating a positive work environment that fosters strong employee performance and high employee engagement.
  • Perform other job related duties as dictated by business needs, as determined by management.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School/GED diploma is required, Bachelor’s Degree is preferred
  • Relevant Work Experience: 3 years of medical or behavioral health claims experience and 1- year supervisory experience preferred of claims processing experience in a health care or managed care environment required
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Ability to understand multiple lines of business, especially Medicare and Medicaid
    • Demonstrated technical abilities including: performing claim adjustments, refund processing, data analysis, problem solving and analytical skills with proficiency in Excel
    • Flexcare proficiency strongly preferred
