About the Position:

We are currently seeking a dynamic Claims Office Assistant to join our team at our office in Cypress, CA!  The Claims Office Assistant I is a position that provides a broad range of office support to staff and management ranging from filing, answering phone calls, handling faxes and mail, photocopying, maintaining and ordering office supplies, preparing correspondence, entering information in the Claims System and other duties as assigned.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that all claims received are date stamped and recorded.
  • Sorts all claims according to Health Plan and batched up in increments of 100
  • Record numbers of claims received on Daily Inventory Spreadsheet
  • Provide all updates to the Inventory to Claims Manager and Team Leads
  • Distribute any incoming faxes
  • Mail out all outgoing correspondence
  • Create CFM’S for members that are not yet loaded in the Raintree system
  • Attach electronic claims (EDI) received to the proper member files
  • Scan, Re-sequence and clean batches into Laserfiche
  • Mail misdirected claims to various Health Plans
  • Photocopy and mail out denial letters for both systems
  • Ensures filing of processed batches is completed by the end of each work week.

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Relevant Work Experience:   1 to 2 years’ experience in an administrative capacity required
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
    • Must be well organized
    • Requires excellent communication and office skills
    • Computer experience in MS Word and Excel
    • Working knowledge of office methods and procedures in filing systems
