About the Position:

We are currently seeking a dynamic Claims Manager to join our team in Morrisville, NC! The Claims Manager builds and maintains a high performance claims processing team.  This position is responsible for the management and control of daily operational functions within an assigned business unit while measurably contributing to continuous process improvement initiatives and activities

Position Responsibilities:

  • Ensures all claims related service level agreements and Performance Guarantees are met
  • Oversees and measures claims processing team(s) for performance and productivity.
  • Tracks and trends staff performance, providing regular feedback and guidance to staff members.
  • Actively identifies and participates in process improvement initiatives
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with claims related federal and state regulatory requirements 
  • Builds a successful team of highly motivated and quality driven employees through leadership, mentoring, and training.
  • Develops subject matter expertise on assigned business
  • Provides the Claims Leadership with regular communication on team performance and account status
  • Ensures necessary analytics are performed timely and accurately
  • Monitor vacation time, tardiness, absenteeism, and performance standards.  Provide guidance/ feedback/ disciplinary action consistently and according to Beacon policy.
  • Adjusts management approach according to situation, leaning primarily on a collaborative style, promoting teamwork and reciprocal communication
  • Creates initiatives to promote staff morale

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred but will accept commensurate claims and supervisory experience
  • Relevant Work Experience: 3 years supervising/managing claims processing staff in a health insurance/managed care environment required
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Strong problem and analytical skills required
    • Strong ability to manage and mentor staff required
