About the Position:

Beacon Health Options is currently seeking a dynamic Claims Encounters Processor to join our team in Latham, NY! The Claims Encounters Processor will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing behavior health encounters (post adjudicated claims) as part of a companywide centralized unit. Under the direct supervision of the Data Exchange Manager, the incumbent is expected to work independently to process a high volume of transactions in accordance to policies and procedures while maintaining quality and productions goals and provides back-up technical support to other processors ensuring all encounters are processed and resolved.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Monitor encounters for trends in error types and proactively reports them to management within 24 hours
  • Support testing of all system modifications and migrations
  • Analyze behavioral health encounters that require research and resolution, as flagged by Beacon’s encounters software in a timely and accurate manner in order to meet or exceed the department standards
  • Identify system issues and proactively reports them to management in a timely manner
  • Maintain daily production spreadsheet and follows workflows to ensure that required service levels are met including turnaround time, productivity and accuracy by client
  • Maintain knowledge of all system, contractual, compliance standard changes and policy updates, and attend additional training sessions as necessary
  • Contribute to a team environment by maintaining excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrating flexibility with daily operations/functions
  • Perform other job-related duties and/or work additional hours as dictated by business needs, as determined by management

Position Requirements:

  • Education: High school/GED diploma is required
  • Relevant Work Experience: 2 years of claims processing experience in a health care environment or a minimum of 1 year internal claims processing experience required
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Ability to read and interpret workflows and procedure instructions
    • Ability to work independently
    • Experience with MS office
