About the Position:

We are currently seeking a dynamic Claims Assistant Vice President (AVP) to join our Claims team! The AVP of Claims oversees and executes tactical and strategic business operations that impact Claims and supporting operational departments.  This position is responsible for oversight of all claims operations that use the Flexcare system, however also has a grasp of multiple claims processing systems. The AVP oversees the edifecs exception management team, and multiple engagement center claims operations. This role will have direct reports and must have progressive management experience.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of multiple claims teams, including staffing levels, regular performance monitoring, and ensures performance guarantees are met
  • Oversight of exceptions team management
  • Collaboratively develops and implements claims department’s strategic agenda
  • Applies analytical skills to identify trends
  • Develop programs to standardize practices across the Claims Department
  • Executes corporate development plans and strategies
  • Provides expertise to teams to review, investigate, and adjust claims
  • Understands and evaluates customer perspectives, needs, and requirements
  • Responsible to work with Claims VP to manage budget and expenses for teams
  • Delivers clear communication to all levels of the organization
  • Leads large scale initiatives, including implementation projects
  • Develops logistics to meet departmental and corporate needs
  • Integrates best practices for all claims functions and operations
  • Supports end-to-end claims improvements, including improved auto-adjudication, reducing denials, and extract acceptance
  • Represents Claims to clients, providers, and external auditors

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Relevant Work Experience: 10 years of claims experience, including progressive leadership and supervisory/management roles required
  • Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
    • Must understand multiple lines of business
    • Must possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills for all staff levels
    • Must understand multiple operational roles
    • Must have demonstrated leadership abilities in changing and challenging environment
