ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic CLINICAL CARE MANAGER to join our ABA/Autism Services team at our office in Mt Laurel, NJ.  The CLINICAL CARE MANAGER conducts telephonic assessments, collecting sufficient data to make appropriate referral and certification decisions for members with autism spectrum disorder. Collaborates and coordinates with providers and/or members of the treatment team to evaluate clinical appropriateness of treatment and interventions, and assist with the management of treatment across the continuum of care. Works to ensure treatment provided is timely, and designed to meet the member’s individual needs. Works with providers and facilities to monitor and evaluate care at regular intervals to ensure progress towards goals.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment planning by providing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) reviews and discharge planning for continuity of care to members.
  • Responsible for meeting standards related to clinical documentation, clinical policies and procedures, accreditation and regulatory standards and contract compliance.
  • Develop collaborative relationships with providers to deliver appropriate and timely health care services.
  • Help develop and facilitate implementation of the most cost effective plan of care for members while helping to ensure that members receive high quality care.
  • Responsible for triage and management of emergency calls.
  • Responsible for clinical decisions related to assessment, referral, and coordination of care and appropriateness of care for members seeking access to their benefits for autism services covered by the contract, using established criteria, guidelines and policies.
  • Referring cases that do not meet medical necessity criteria to a Peer Advisor when unable to render a certification decision.
  • Provide appropriate consultation and referral to Case Management staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education: A minimum of a B.S. Degree in mental health field or an Associate’s Degree in Nursing with related psychiatric nursing experience.

Licensure:  Current valid and unrestricted license in a state or territory of the United States in a mental health field (RN, Ph.D, LMSW/LCSW, MHC, LLP, LPC, etc.) License in NJ

Relevant Work Experience:  3 – 5 years of direct practice experience in settings that include inpatient, partial, and/or outpatient preferred.. Strong customer orientation and excellent written and verbal communications skills required. Must possess strong computer skills.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Critical thinking skills and ability to work independently
  • Computer and typing skills necessary - MS Office proficiency a must
  • Potential work from home opportunity after in office training
