We are currently seeking a dynamic Business Development Director to join our team as remote in the NE Region NY, MA, CT. Must live in NY, MA or CT NE Region.  The Director of Business Development will support the regional Business Development team to meet new sales growth targets in the Northeast Market. This support will include the facilitation of cross-functional interdepartmental relationships, solution development, and production of sales and proposal materials. The Director will also assist in developing and cultivating a strong new business pipeline, including shaping health plan and governmental opportunities in advance of competitive procurement. Effective collaboration and strong external relationship building will be critical for success.

What does a typical day look like?

  1. Work with the Head of Business Development and Strategy and Development to understand market and prospect priorities to identify key areas of assistance or investigation.
  2. Work together with the Business Development and Government Affairs teams to develop a plan to identify and cultivate new prospects. Develop strong relationships early on to help shape future opportunities or procurements.
  3. Build strong client relationships & establish credibility with key stakeholders including health plan leaders, government agencies, and vendor partners.
  4. Monitor pipeline development and growth and help meet regional sales targets each year
  5. Work with the Business Development team to develop materials to be used in client engagement settings such as sales presentations and finalist meetings.
  6. Support presentation content creation and demonstration of the positive value and outcomes of Beacon’s work and achievements within the context of existing client relationships and new business prospects.
  7. Collaborate across the enterprise to manage and own the development of proposals.
  8. Stay abreast of Beacon product suite, competitive landscape, and changing business needs of customers.
  9. Collaborate with Product Development and Operations team to translate identified market opportunities into viable, cost-competitive, and innovative products and solutions that will create profitable new business opportunities
  10. Attendance at client/prospect facing meetings to support business development.

What you Contribute?

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred (business, economics, healthcare administration, public policy); Master’s level strongly preferred

Experience

  • 5-10 years of managed care experience specific to behavioral health.
  • Background managing a variety of projects end-to-end.
  • Demonstrated experience working with health plans and/or state/local governmental agencies.  
  • Proven experience in persuading others using strong logic and compelling data.
  • Must be able to articulate a clear vision throughout all levels of an organization.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Expert and proficient level knowledge, skill and ability in

  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Analysis and problem solving, group presentation and public speaking.
  • Interpersonal communications, verbal and written communication, collaboration and team-oriented work philosophy, 
  • Utilization of SalesForce to drive new opportunities
