About the Position:

Beacon Health Options is currently seeking a dynamic a Senior BCBA Care Manager to join our team in Linthicum Heights, MD. The BCBA Senior Care Manager will be responsible for the timely utilization management and review for members eligible for ABA services per Maryland Medicaid and contract guidelines.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Review and make determinations on member specific documentation to determine member’s eligibility to access the ABA benefit based on State of Maryland eligibility criteria.
  • Review and make determinations on individualized ABA Treatment Plans submitted by ABA providers for adherence to ASD “best practice” guidelines and State of Maryland standards, within required time guidelines.
  • Provide peer-to-peer telephonic and electronic case consultation to ABA providers supporting the treatment planning process while maximizing member progress.
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the entire ABA benefit within the State of Maryland’s Medicaid system and provide guidance, as needed, to the provider community.
  • Act as a liaison with parents/caregivers and ABA providers to ensure continuum of care and support for members.
  • Act as a liaison, in partnership with the ABA Care Coordinator team, to facilitate explanations of what ABA is and how it is applied, to inquiring parents/caregivers.
  • Facilitate, adhere to and accurately implement clinical operations to process determinations.
  • Track, monitor and meet team productivity standards.
  • Conduct, as needed, trainings and/or CEU presentations to the ABA provider community or to colleagues within the organization.
  • Displays a positive, constructive, and helpful demeanor that is conducive to a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Acts as a mentor to junior team members by leading by example and guiding with a sense of integrity and team work.
  • Assist team members and offers suggestions to improve processes, culture, or work environment.
  • Actively participate within case reviews and rounds discussions both locally and nationally.
  • Assist with special projects and administrative tasks as assigned. 

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Master’s degree required in a behavioral sciences field with an emphasis on Applied Behavior Analysis preferred
  • Licensure: Current, valid, unrestricted BCBA or BCBA-D licensed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board required, Maryland Licensed Behavior Analyst (Maryland LBA) preferred
  • Relevant Work Experience: 4 years’ experience providing ABA therapy to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with at least 1 of those years supervising ABA treatment required
