Job Description


We are currently seeking a dynamic Accounting Clerk I to join our team at our office in Norfolk, VA.  The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for scanning and indexing bank reconciliations, journal entries and cash receipts for the company.  Provides support to the Accounting Department by preparing bank reconciliations and assisting with unclaimed property.  Heavy utilization of On-Demand, Datacap, Outlook and Excel.  Responsible for performing various clerical activities in support of the Norfolk Operations Finance Department.

Position Responsibilities:

•Scanning and indexing of department records – includes; learning the scanning software system and keeping apprised of any changes to the software.Provide routine maintenance on the scanning machine.

•Keeping the scanning up to date for bank reconciliations, journal entries, cash receipts and any other assignments as needed

•Assist with preparing the monthly bank reconciliations.

•Assist with processing unclaimed property for the company

•Open and distribute all bank statements and reconciliation reports.

•Scan monthly revenue and cash receipts for the company.

Position Requirements:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Licensure:  N/A

Relevant Work Experience: Minimum of one (1) year clerical experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Basic computer skills required, including Word, Excel, On-Demand, Outlook, Basic hardware skills including computer, scanner, letter folding machine, calculator and copier, Must be familiar with CAS, Tracker and Oracle databases and AS/400 and Windows 2016 Operating Systems, Basic office skills
