Job Description


The WAN Engineer II will be responsible for developing, deploying and maintaining scalable computer network solutions in support of a rapidly growing business environment and will report to Network Infrastructure Manager and ploy a key role in areas of network and system security, standard operating procedure, disaster recovery and business continuity strategies. S/he will be responsible for managing problem escalations that exceed the capacity and/or skill set of the support and operational tiers of the organization. S/he will be responsible for the adoption of new technologies including design and deployment, project management, documentation and support of all evolutionary solutions.


  • Develop and support the Beacon Network environment in support of the infrastructure operation
  • Develop data center and network system designs
  • Management and administration of the operations infrastructure on a 24x7x365 basis
  • Troubleshoot system and network interoperability issues as required
  • Drive system and network capacity planning and deployment in a rapidly expanding environment
  • Create and maintain procedural and architectural documentation
  • Evaluate and recommend upgrades, patches, application and equipment
  • Participate in systems architecture design and implementation
  • Manage develop requirements, project proposals and deployment projects
  • Some travel will be required during major remote site rework and/or implementation
  • Conduct periodic audits of all physical, logical and security layer aspects of the data and voice network.
  • Other duties as required and/or assigned


  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience designing, maintaining and configuring Routers, Switches, Firewalls, and other Network Devices
  • Must have hands on work experience supporting Cisco based devices and services in a local and wide area network
  • Knowledge and experience in the areas of Internet Computing Architecture, TCP, VPN, VoIP, Firewalls
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related degree
