Job Description



We are currently seeking a dynamic Trainer to join our Talent Management and Learning team. 

You will develop and deliver instructor led trainings for our Operations and Clinical teams (customer service, claims processing, clinical), training on technical systems and soft skills. Delivery will be either in classroom or virtually via WebEx. You will focus on developing, delivering, and maintaining comprehensive training programs, and will also be responsible for coordinating all training requirements, maintaining and updating the content to ensure it is relevant.

As a member of the team, you will serve as a learning consultant, collaborate with subject matter experts to build and deliver adequate learning solutions (eLearning, classroom, blended). This position reports to Manager, National Training (Customer Service and Claims).   

This position is based in Roseland, NJ.


Deliver Trainings:  

  • Deliver and facilitate both in-person and virtual instructor lead training programs to wide and varied audiences
  • Deliver ongoing onboarding programs, trainings to support Business Implementations, and ability to deliver ad-hoc trainings as needed
  • Manage training logistics, prepare training materials, ensure participants have resources prior, during and after the training for best learning
  • Assess learning quality, satisfaction, seek ongoing feedback to improve and enhance content and experience
  • Responsible for technical writing and the design of new training courses
  • Train basic Microsoft Programs and train internal software applications

Instructional Design / Curriculum Development: 

  • Develop courses using sound instructional design methods (ie, ADDIE, SAM)
  • Apply adult learning theories to course design including experiential activities, discovery methods, and action planning. 
  • Work with subject matter experts / business clients to understand learning needs and objectives, audience, method of delivery
  • Design appropriate learning solutions, content, course materials and instructional methodologies to best meet business and audience needs
  • Manage and maintain integrity of the content to ensure it is up-to-date and relevant
  • Complete Needs Analysis for new programs

Technical Writing Requirements:

  • Develop technical documentation for pre and post training reference
  • Manage a SharePoint site (site admin) with training content and documents
  • Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) to obtain content for documentation
  • Create reference materials using the Standards of Technical Writing and Beacon Training Style Guide, including:
    • Reference Manuals
    • Training Guides
    • Job Aids
    • Online documentation
    • Use the standard draft and review guidelines for the Training Department

Other Requirements

  • Work with the operations team, as needed, to stay up-to-date on the day to day business operations
  • Sit side-by-side with new hires and provide feedback, as needed

Administrative Requirement:

  • Complete Paperwork for New Hire Training
  • Complete Training Tracking of new hires in the Relias Learning Management System
  • Weekly Status Reports / Progress Notes / Feedback to Ops management team
  • Complete paperwork, training tracking, weekly status reports and SharePoint updates
  • Manage and maintain content via Learning Management System (Relias)


Education: Bachelor’s Degree, Education or industry-related focus preferred.

Licensure:  None required

Relevant Work Experience:  

  • At least one year of working in healthcare or related field (preferred)
  • At least 1-3 years of working in a training role with content development and delivery experience
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Software (LMS) a plus
  • Knowledge of traditional and modern job training methods and techniques

Travel: Up to 10-20%.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: at least an intermediate level of knowledge or ability:

  • Excellent delivery, presentation, facilitation and classroom management skills
  • Proficient in MS Office PPT, and Word, SharePoint and WebEx
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, and prioritize appropriately to meet strict deadlines
  • Experience working closely with business experts to identify course objectives, and turn content into effective learning solutions 
  • Collaborative, team-oriented, able to work effectively in a geographically dispersed team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, public speaking
  • Planning, time management, and interpersonal skills with solid attention to detail
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
