Job Description

 General Summary

Under the supervision of the Training Manager, the Trainer 1 is primarily responsibility to conduct training for employees on policies, procedures, and practices as well as technical systems used to perform the job. This includes: completing a wide range of administrative tasks, maintaining training records, preparing general training materials, conducting training sessions, assessing learning, and providing coaching and feedback to employees. This position is located in Roseland, NJ.

Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative Requirements:

  • Complete paperwork for New Hire Training
  • Complete Training Tracking of new hires in the Relias Learning Management System
  • Progress Notes / Feedback to Ops management team
  • Weekly status reports
  • SharePoint updates

Training Requirements:

  • Work with management, supervisors, and employees to gain knowledge of training needs and to understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, business initiative and technologies.
  • Lead in-person training and remote/WebEx training, as required
  • Conduct all onboarding programs
  • Provide implementation training and ad hoc training programs in areas of knowledge such as technical and operational topics
  • Train basic MSOffice Programs: Outlook, SharePoint, Instant Messaging service
  • Train internal software applications including: ADP, HRConnect, Beacon Navigator, WebEx, Relias

Instructional Design Requirements:

  • Edit existing course materials
  • Implement new training programs
  • Use course evaluations
  • Make recommendations for improvements for existing courses

Technical Writing Requirements:

  • Update existing SharePoint site (contributor)
  • Create reference materials using the Standards of Technical Writing and Beacon Training Style Guide, including:
  • Reference Manuals
  • Training Guides
  • Job Aids
  • Online documentation
  • Use the standard draft and review guidelines for the Training Department

Other Requirements

  • Work with the operations team, as needed, to stay up-to-date on the day to day business operations
  • Sit side-by-side with new hires and provide feedback, as needed


  • This position does not require travel.

Minimum Entry Level Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Licensures: None

Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

  • At least one year of working in healthcare or related field.
