Beacon is currently seeking a Quality Management Analyst I to join our team at our Atlanta, GA office. The Quality Management Analyst I will support and manage quality improvement activities, analysis, and reporting of behavioral health data for the Georgia Engagement Center. This will include conducting statistical and quality improvement analyses, as well as reporting of healthcare related outcome data in coordination with organization-wide and regional quality improvement clinical and service activities. This position reports to the Georgia Engagement Center Director of Quality.

What does a typical day look like?

    • Monitors and analyzes performance through data collection, tracking and analysis.  Identify improvement opportunities and recommends quality improvement activities.     
    • Develops, analyzes, manages, and prepares written assessment reports using statistical and detailed quality improvement analyses to evidence effectiveness of interventions and opportunities for improvement.
      • Uses SQL to obtain claims data, analyze data for outliers and high utilization patterns in billing.
      • Supports Quality Management Analyst III in data validation and analysis, creation and review of reports.
      • Uses SQL data to obtain claims data for internal and/or external ad hoc reports.
    • Write trend reports and conduct performance improvement on provider record reviews and quality improvement activities with accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Analyze data and consider improvements including next steps
  • Conduct audits/internal assessments of clinical and operational service center activities to ensure compliance with corporate policies, quality management activities.
  • Maintains Monthly Report which is provided to the Georgia client that monitors the effectiveness of performance measures
  • Develops, analyzes, manages and prepares written assessment reports using statistical and detailed quality improvement analyses to evidence effectiveness of interventions and opportunities for improvement
  • Analyze treatment record review data
  • Build on literature database for multiple topical areas

    • Evaluates quality performance measures and proposes recommendations, as applicable.
    • Promote quality improvement to internal Beacon Teams
  • Prepare and facilitate committee meetings and other meetings, including taking minutes and developing project plans, as assigned
  • Conduct audits/internal assessments of clinical and operational service center activities to ensure compliance with corporate policies, quality management activities and accreditation standards
  • Coordinates and/or assists in interdepartmental quality improvement activies (QIAs) and HEDIS activities
  • Maintains confidentiality, ethical and professional standards, personal standards of cultural competency, and leads by example.

  • Prepares and presents trainings to providers, as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

What you Contribute?

Education:          Bachelor’s degree in behavioral health or related field required, Master’s preferred.

Licensure: N/A

Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years’ experience in managed care or behavioral health preferred.
  • Knowledge of Quality Improvement philosophy and techniques and state, federal guidelines and regulations preferred.
  • Experience in data analysis and data presentation preferably related to behavioral health.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Analytical Skills: SQL knowledge preferred; able to structure and process qualitative and quantitative data and draw insightful conclusions
  • Collaboration: work closely with Analyst III to interpret, define, and document data extract specifications.
  • Excel: Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Follow-through on Commitments: Able to manage time-sensitive projects and meet deadlines
  • Honesty & Integrity: Earns trust and maintains confidence
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task

  • Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills. This position requires highly developed organizational and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Initiative: Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and external clients (i.e., sub-contracted providers, stakeholders and state and/or federal agencies) and is pro-active in problem resolution. The individual for this position must be able to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
