Program Manager, Learning and Development

Beacon Health Options is looking for Program Manager, Learning and Development to join our newly formed Talent Management team.  This role will support the development and delivery of new content for the core Talent Management programs including Performance Management, Onboarding, Manager and Leadership Development. 

The Program Manager,  Learning and Development will report to the Director, Organizational Development and is responsible for the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of trainings and programs that support strategies to build high-performing workforce. Ultimately, you will design, deliver and document effective learning interventions that will develop essential skills of our managers and employees to drive performance, engagement and productivity.  

To be successful in this role you must have experience and knowledge in designing and delivering skill-based and manager trainings utilizing blended approach that includes e-learning design, live delivery via webinar and in person training, as well as designing supporting materials and learning aids. This role requires excellent facilitation, written communication and presentation skills, proven ability to design creative presentations, and an agile and flexible approach to learning design.  Effective relationship management will be the key to your success. You will understand and effectively use consultative approach to collaborate with business leaders and key stakeholders to navigate organizational changes.   

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with design, development, and delivery of all enterprise Manager Training programs:
    • Build annual Manager training program and prepare teaching plans
    • Facilitate Manager Training via webinar and in person workshops
    • Develop effective training materials, such as learning exercises, instructional materials, aids and manuals
    • Implement training evaluation and assess feedback to continuously improve and adapt content
    • Manage program sessions, registration, tracking, coordination, and communications
  • Assist the Director, Organizational Development in developing year-round training schedule and programs.
  • Support design/ development and delivery of Performance Management trainings, materials.
  • Assist with development and delivery of the Onboarding trainings, learning plan, materials.  
  • Organize, develop or source other training programs to meet specific training requests to support enterprise manager and employee development initiatives.
  • Design using blended learning approaches, creative and innovative learning methodologies, to design and deliver effective learning solutions.
  • Explore opportunities to enhance training, liaise with external partners, recommend training to outsource, if needed. Stay informed of the new trends and tools in employee development.
  • Manage and maintain training materials and development resources, including online reference materials (via Sharepoint/ Intranet/ LMS), training aids, and resources such as manuals and handbooks.
  • Manage and maintain training tracking records via Learning Management System (Relias) as appropriate. Complete paperwork, training tracking, weekly status reports.
  • Cultivate a workplace environment that is beneficial to employee morale and builds manager capabilities

Position Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree required, Psychology, Learning Design, Human resource Management, or Organizational Development background preferred.

Relevant Work Experience: 3 - 5 years of learning and development experience. 

Travel: 15-20%


  • Knowledge of adult learning theory and principles is required 
  • Proven ability to implement blended learning solutions and manage training from beginning to end including; assessment, design, development, delivery, coordination, and evaluation
  • Excellent Facilitation Skills including verbal and written communication skills a must
  • Solid organization skills, with the ability to manage multiple trainings at the same time
  • Expert creative design skills in MS PowerPoint are required
  • Experience with Articulate eLearning software a plus 
  • Knowledge of traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
  • Hands-on experience developing and delivering effective trainings, learning solutions and curriculums
  • Proven ability to navigate complex situations to identify effective solutions
  • Proven ability to deliver results on time with high quality, collaborative approach
