Beacon is currently seeking a Network Performance Director to join our team at our Grand Rapids, MI office.  The Network Performance Director drive the development, implementation, and management of provider reimbursement models and initiatives in the assigned region. The Network Performance Director is accountable for developing the strategies that ensure the financial performance of the assigned regional networks. The director is accountable for the day-to-day (tactical) implementation of those strategies and initiatives. The Network Performance Director will work in a matrixed environment and must use informal influence to bring colleagues across the enterprise together to be collectively successful.

What does a typical day look like?

  1. Facilitate and lead the strategic planning process for the development, implementation and management of value based networks focused on favorable unit cost performance as well as overall medical costs.
  2. Formulate and implement alternative reimbursement methodologies for various provider types that ensure the financial performance of the network.
  3. Provide detailed network development and financial strategy focused on the clients budgetary limitations.
  4. Plan and manage at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels to the client and state levels.
  5. Align with strategic client partnership and business development executives, industry leads, and regional leadership teams to present a single front to represent a single vision for our customers.
  6. Set and execute aggressive network strategies for State and Local government accounts.
  7. Support the development of comprehensive networks aligned with product development, sales/marketing growth strategies and utilization management goals.
  8. Establish and enhance collaborative partnerships with regional providers.
  9. Identify and communicate appropriate medical cost management initiatives to support the overall success of the network financial performance.
  10. Identify and manage risks, resolve conflicts and remove barriers that impede the department’s ability to achieve company goals and objectives.
  11. Ensure collaboration with other corporate functional areas.
  12. Identify and obtain support and resources to implement new strategic opportunities.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

What you Contribute?

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Health Care, Business, Finance, or any other field and/or equivalent work experience in Network Management/Network Development, Provider Relations, Risk and /or Value Base Contracting.  Master’s level degree preferred

Work Experience:

  • 7+ years' experience in the health care industry, including a demonstrated track record of negotiating contracts with various provider types.
  • 3+ years direct management experience leading a successful team in contracting.

Travel: 25% - 60%

  • Demonstrated leadership and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to design effective, strategic initiatives based on current and trend utilization.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong presentation skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate detailed information to healthcare providers.
  • Strong project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills required, including working knowledge of MS Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel
